My Carbon Edition F55 Build

LOL, Since all the Carbon Editions pretty much came optioned the same way from MINI, it's more of an aftermarket build. I have seen folks posting stuff about their cars so I figured I would join in on the fun.

I have had the car about 8 weeks and have roughly 5,000 miles on it at this point. It's been a fun car to drive and it's my first venture into MINI ownership. I moved from a Ford Focus ST and bought this Carbon after seeing it on the showroom floor and I decide then to cancel my ordered Focus RS, $44,000 for a Focus is bit much.

The options my car came with are the manual transmission and all season tires and I have added some OEM and aftermarket parts, as it appears we all do!

Some of the cool bits the Carbon Edition came with include the
JCW Tuning Kit
JCW Exhaust with Carbon Tips
Carbon Fiber hood scoop and side mirror covers
JCW Exterior and Interior
Midnight Black Paint with Matte Black Sport Stripes with Red Outline
Matte Black CARBON Stripe on doors
Navigation, HK Audio, LED Headlights

So some of the highlights of my aftermarket build include;
OEM Auto Dimming Mirror with Home Link garage door opener
with Valentine 1 hardwired and mirror mounted
OEM Euro-Spec blind spot side view mirrors
OEM JCW Side Scuttles
OEM JCW Front Grill with Red Stripe
iPhone Pro Clip mounted and hardwired
Nexon Motors Carbon Fiber Flat Bottom Steering Wheel
Carbon Mini Parts, door handle covers, gas cap cover, front & rear emblem covers, valve stems and side scuttles
NM Parts, 25mm GT Rear Sway Bar & End Links, and Short Shifter Adapter
Extended the Matte Black and Red Stripes over the front & rear bumpers
Carbon Fiber look textured black vinyl on chrome grill surround and window belt line
Red Metallic Stripes and CARBON lettering added to doors
Spectra PhotoSync Window Tinting, 45% sides/back and 75% windshield
Ceramic Pro Paint Sealer
Interior Door Ellipses covered with Red Carbon Fiber textured vinyl

Onto some pictures.......

I love those stripes!!!! super jealous of those, I wish you could order them from the factory on a regular F55, I also love how far down they go. They should have done LED with cornering since those are black vs chrome inside. How much was OEM Auto Dimming Mirror with Home Link garage door opener? I wanted this but spending $250 for a garage door opener is highway robbery, but now kind of kicking around the idea.

I love modded Minis. How much is the Carbon Edition stock. It's similar to the fJCW minus the brakes right? And the turbo.
EDIT: I see that it's $37,100 on MotoringFun. The interior/exterior is $3000, and the Carbon Edition stuff (includes Wired, sunroof, etc) is $3000. The other options must be $5k.

The one I was looking at the other day was 38,600 with an automatic. It has a nice breakdown on the extras.

Yea $37,100 was MSRP of the manual.

The one on cars.com is confusing, it says it's New and has 2300 miles on it, yet the odometer photo shows over 4,800 miles.

To answer about the auto dimming mirror after the fact, it's not for the faint of heart, it was $500 just for the part, then came the install. In the MINI Configuration tool, it's $250 for auto dimming and $250 for the home link. But this was on my "must have" list of options and I had the money set aside for my down payment, so it went into the mirror instead.

No regrets on not getting the Focus RS.

yeah I have the auto dimming because I think it is part of the cold weather but $250 for a garage door opener is a hard pill to swallow so I took it off on my final build, I plan on fabricating something with an ebay homelink, if that fails then maybe i will consider it, but now I know it is $500 I doubt it will happen.

You have a beautiful car.

Which mirror mount for the Valentine one is that? Where did you tap for the hard wire?

Here is the place that made them... Over $2,000 bucks though, for some fancy woven plastic on your steering wheel.

sorry been away from the forum for a while.

The mirror mount for the V1 is from Blend Mount and they make the mounts specific for the mirror and the detector you want to mount, very clean looking.

The steering wheel is much more than some fancy woven plastic, it's a whole new wheel. The company can be found on Facebook and they make wheels for many higher end cars than MINI. Sure it wasn't cheap but it's the one thing you touch every time you drive the car and the thicker wheel in carbon fiber feels great. It has gotten rave reviews from anyone who has driven my car.

Yeah I've heard of people paying $2000 for an aftermarket exhaust. I'd rather have that steering wheel.

I like the stripes. I've been looking for something similar for my car except maybe gloss vs matte black.
