I've always wanted to own a MINI and it has always been my dream car! My friend's 2010 MINI Cooper (base) had a transmission failure and had to get it fixed after only 15,000 KM. Scary!

Anyway... after owning 3 Honda's/Acura's (all had ZERO problems), I decided to get the new MINI F56. My uncle bought the base model with a manual transmission last year, and my other good friend purchased the MINI Cooper S this spring, and both cars have ZERO problems so far. I sat in both of these cars, and also got a chance to sit behind the wheels and drove both of these cars. WOW! I love the new MINI!

I ordered the base model with an automatic transmission last week, and I was told expected delivery will be around late March or early April.

One thing I didn't like was the "bulky" packages I had to select (I live in Canada). For example, I wanted the heated front seats but didn't want the panoramic sun roof, but I had no choice but to get the "Essential" package if I wanted to get heated front seats.



So this is what I ordered:

Sounds like you ordered a great car. Many of those same options I have in mine and love them.

This is my first MINI and likely will not be my last.

Delivery date seems to be a tad longer than normal, but dealer is likely erring on the conservative side to preclude disappointment if something should happen.

Do a forum search and you'll find links where you can check when your car enters productin and it's build progress. You can even track it's shipment across the Atlantic. It's all pretty exciting while you await delivery.

Just remember to keep things realistic and in perspective. It's a lifestyle product, not simply a basic transportation appliance. Don't let your dream be spoiled if one or two little things need to be ironed out. After all, living the dream is far more nuanced than fantasizing it.

Congratulations! It must feel great to finally place an order for a MINI after wanting one for some time. I'm a big fan of the White Silver Metallic with black roof combo. It looks so clean. Be sure to share some images for us once you get some! We love pictures.

 

Congrats on the new Mini! They are addicting. I purchased a new 2015 2 months ago with many of the same options......you're going to love driving it along with the amazing mpg. Nice color choice by the way-white silver is easy to keep clean too!

Congrats. Now the fun will begin (motoring and looking for aftermarket stuff).

Read the manual and the one installed in the MINI center stack (this one is actually has more info). You'll likely have a few head scratching moments setting your preferences (as I did). Not the most intuitive set up I've encountered, but still quite doable.

Hoping you enjoy your car as much as i do mine. They really are quite special.
