HELP!!! BMS Stage 1 w/ data cable

What are the stock user settings for the Stage 1 Beta?

When I adjust the user settings and click "save" I get the "settings saved!" message but the display boxes revert back to the old settings.

Can someone point me in the right direction? I don't know what to do anymore.

This is what I'm seeing and I don't know what to do. I'm totally lost and nothing is working, having computer troubles as well so frustration levels are high.

Under the "File" tab, try restore to defaults.

You should be using map 1.

The only setting that worries me is the boost safety at 6psi. You should start with something lower. Default is either 3 or 3.5 psi. Once you get everything working and no error codes, then you could safely increase the boost and octane.

Fuel Open Loop also shouldn't be at 25. But I don't think it matters if you're not connecting the FF cable. Set it at 50 if FF cable is installed.

I'm worried that you might have a connection problem since you said the settings are not saving. Contact Terry/BMS and get it all sorted out.

Thank you... I don't see a "restore to default" under "files" :/ Do you know if the wastegate setting will affect anything? Terry says "Change boost safety to 3.5, and press save. No other setting is used." and I don’t know what the various settings do, I don’t want to set the waste gate to 0 and have that mess something up when it should be set to something else, you know?

Wastegate is right at 2. Just like Terry said, change the boost safety to 3.5 and that's it. Make sure the setting is saved successfully.

So open loop being at 25 doesn't matter if FF isn't plugged in? My only problem is that my settings aren't saving. Can they be adjusted when the box isnt connected to the car or does it have to be connected? I shot Terry an email and hopefully he gets back to me.

stock open loop is 60 w/out FF and 50 with. i know when someone had issues in the past on the n54 forums, the suggestion was to bring the open loop down to 20/25.

personally, i'm on 50 and i have the FF as per instructions.

Ok perfect thanks. Is the standard wastegate setting 2 or 0? once I can figure that out all I need to do is figure out how to get the settings to save and It'll be as good as new.

process of elimination says wastegate default is 0. why? because i see on n54 that someone put the FF and when running an ethanol mix, they changed wastegate to 2 and boost to 6.5 with fuel open @ 50.

what are you trying to achieve btw? is something wrong with the car? if you just wanted to get it properly set, i would do the following
- boost safety @ 5-6
- wastegate @ 0
- fuel open @ 50

then just pull some logs and send them to terry and he can suggest if you should change something.

I had ff going but I'd like to cut it off and just start running standard pump gas again (settings as they come from BMS) but first I forgot the standard settings and second, when I go to change them for some reason they aren't saving.

FF alters fuel trims...it is needed when you go higher in boost...you don't need to remove FF to go back to pump gas.
i'm running 93 octane and i had to put a FF when i increased my JB4 from map1 to map2...

I just want to tune the car back a little bit overall. As much as I'd love to be running on 6psi over stock, it's just a little much for me. IDK unpopular personal opinion over here *insert puffin meme*. Plus it'd also be easier to sell to someone later on who wants a "stock" bms stage 1 if I can have it at the standard settings..
