Cleaning Interior Surfaces

Any recommendations for interior vinyl cleaners for the dash and other surfaces? ArmorAll?

I use Meguiar's G16216 Ultimate Interior Detailer - 15.2 oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00G49DUJY..._-tCDwbVX9MWEP

Armor all is way too greasy.

Stay away from anything Armor All - leaves things too sticky or greasy.

Seconded for Meguiar's Interior cleaner. Leaves things looking matte

Lexol's Vinylex is an excellent product. I'm not a fan of Armoral either.

I have not treated my dash yet...I like the smell of new leather & vinyl, but when the time comes I'll likely go with Vinylex or one of the Griot's Garage products that fill my garage!

Staying away from harsh chemicals is the key, as they will accelerate drying out the vinyl (which is just the opposite of what you want to treat it for!).

Watch again that armor all commercial where it takes a pit crew to clean up the smutz from the driveway after the armor all treated car drives away. That should be warning enough.

Meguiar's or Griot's. Two outfits that understand car care and show it. You can't go wrong. Mine's a Griot's garage.

I love 303. You can also use it on your tires to make the a really deep black, but not shiney.

Works really well too for all black plastic exterior parts (fenders, sideskirts, etc)

^Yep. I also use it on my black plastic fenders on both the jeep and the mini.

I cant find 303 locally anymore, so now I use this on my fenders and exterior plastics. I save the good stuff for the interior.

MINI sells a cleaner for interior. I think it was about $10 or so. Ask your MINI dealer parts department. It makes the surface a little shiny but not crazy like Armor All.

Warm water and a good-quality microfiber cloth is all you need for the plastics. I use Zaino leather cleaner and conditioner for the seats.

At my first maintenance check, I asked my service rep about buying a bottle. He said to save my money and just use a damp cloth to clean the interior vinyl and plastics.

But as I bought the car almost new and plan on keeping it for a while, I'd like to maintain it as good as possible. When people saw my previous car (2006 R50) they couldn't believe that it was 10 years old. I may be a bit overboard - no food or drink, but that's the way I like it.

A local place sells Meguiar's and Chemical Guys. The other companies you've all mentioned aren't locally available.

Thanks for all the recommendations.

Mothers VLR

For my F56, I use a damp microfiber cloth to get the loose particles (tap water is usually fine for cleaning everything but the radio display...use distilled or some other mild LCD cleaning product for that).

Then, I use a separate microfiber cloth with a bit of Mothers VLR. This stuff is just amazing - doesn't run, applies nicely and dries to a matte finish (I hate that greasy, shiny, armorall look). It also has very mild ingredients that won't damage your interior. It's so good that I use it on my seats as well (I have the carbon black leatherette sport seats).

The one place where you don't want to use it on hard plastics - use it on soft-touch surfaces only. That being said, I've spilled some before and it is very forgiving. As long as you clean it up quickly, it won't leave any residue.

You can find VLR on amazon here:
Amazon.com: Mothers 06524 VLR VinylLeatherRubber Care - 24 oz.: Automotive Amazon.com: Mothers 06524 VLR VinylLeatherRubber Care - 24 oz.: Automotive

Good luck with cleaning your interior!
