Got the recall today = Front Passenger Side Air Bag Module

Apparently, this module is connected to the air bag itself. so, in my terms this means the complete removal of the original one.

Does anyone know how invasive this is. I think the module is in the exact center of the dash behind the center console. Which mean - &hit, a nightmare to get to.

Anyone know the details on what has to be done.

Some people have discussed this on the F56 forum site. A tech said that it is not invasive at all, and that the airbag module can be accessed easily by going in from the glove box. A lot of people were concerned they were going to have to remove the whole dashboard, but it does not seem that is the case.

I have the DVD changer in the glove box, so that might complicate things a bit, but it seems like it should not be so bad. Time will tell.

I looked at some parts online, and it seems very high in the dash,

I wonder why it says that the recall takes 3 hours to complete. If under the dash, to me, 1.5 at most. Why 3 hours?

thanks
