He is having all the fun.

To be honest the majority of the hostility I see here is not from the OP, is the majority of the thread, and makes me regret deciding to post after listening in on, and learning from, several discussions.

This is how to drive a Mini fast. If you haven't already seen this it is pretty cool.

Here's the "Justa" Cooper, with an autocross run that whipped a couple of Corvettes, some S2000s, a couple of Mustangs, an Evo, and assorted other powerful cars.

It's no drag car, but heck that's not Mini's forte.

Cheers,

Charlie

Charlie, Great car handling skills, that is what driving a sports car has always been about. Thanks for sharing your video. chuck

Nice video Charlie! I remember someone posted one on a racetrack, in a car just like mine, with a bunch of more powerful cars. He passed a whole lotta cars and nobody passed him.

Charlie, I'm a novice when it comes to auto cross but that doesn't seem like the stereotypical parking lot layout. Looks like you can get some speed on that one, which makes it more impressive that you can beat the "faster" cars.

We are blessed at Moore Airfield, within Fort Devens, to have a real airfield to play with. It allows runs over a minute, and I have seen courses that were almost 90 seconds. We have strict sound restrictions and are always on best behavior so that we can retain this site, which we've had the use of now for more than a decade.

Folks that like to toss a Mini around should really try autocross!

Cheers,

Charlie

Here's Moore Airfield - see the tire tracks? Looks like one of the smaller clubs was having an event when this satellite shot was taken.

Sorry, I must be missing something. What is the point of this thread? Mini is not as powerful as Mercedes AMG? Is that a real complaint? My hybrid CT200h is not as fast as a Camry too and even with same HP as base Mini is not as fun to drive. Also Texas gets really hot in summer and not as pleasant as Seattle in summer.
