Tree Sap Removal

I parked under a leaky tree for about a day and a half and now there are drops and streaks that are semi hardened on my bonnet. I'm currently working away with some hot water and a microfiber cloth. I don't want to hurt the paint. Any suggestions?

I've heard nail polish remover helps but I'm hesitant to try it. Does peanut butter work?!

I used WD40 on my son's car and it took some elbow grease, but sap that was hardened like a rock loosened and eventually came off well.

I got most if it off but there seems to be a flat lingering sheen where the streaks were... I hope it's not stained... I'll try wd-40 tomorrow.

Go grab a clay bar kit from Meguiar's or Mothers. They work great, won't hurt your paint. Watch AmmoNYC on YouTube.

I asked my buddy to borrow some WD-40 and he gave me this can. I have no experience with this stuff. Would it be safe to use?

I have a product from Turtle Wax called "Bug and Tree Sap Remover" that works great. Clay bar should work also.

There are specific products made for tree sap removal. I've seen them at Pep Boys and Auto Zone. I'd try those and then a clay bar. Finish up with wax.

I used that chemical in the picture above and it does take some force/time but it comes off. Bad news is that I keep finding more droplets of tree sap I had to go to work but I will use more tonight and wash it off real good.

Got it all (99%) off using just the crc 3-36, water, and a microfiber cloth. Gave her a car wash at the end to clean any lingering chemicals; wax soon to follow thanks for the help guys.
