F55/F56 Code S554A
Code S554A
my MCS order was just produced and I had a look on BMW encoder out of curiosity.
Noticed that I have S544A (Geschwindigkeitsregelung mit Bremsfunkt. Cruise control with brake function).
I certainly did not order the Driving Assistant, nor do I see any other options that usually comes with the driving assistant.
Does anyone know if S554A is just the normal cruise control or the active one?

S544A is the same number listed on my car, which is pretty basic.
I assume it means it will apply brakes if engine braking doesn't slow the car on a descent?

The system brakes on downhill gradients if engine braking action is insufficient.

Sounds reasonable. Yea, probably it doesn't mean active cruise control.
That's the normal cruise control
My MINI has that option too (without the driving assistant active cruise control). Unlike older cars I've driven which increase speed when driving downhill in cruise control mode, the brakes are applied to maintain the set speed.
This is referring to Dynamic Cruise Control, which is standard on all F56/F55s.
When entering a curve or going down a hill with cruise control on, the car can actually apply the brakes for you to keep you at your set speed. It works pretty marvelously!

I'm really loving this feature on my new F56!
I got my VIN on July 7 and was able to look it up right away. Although prior to the car being completed you don't get any useful information. My car was finished on July 10 and all the technical information was available on that day.
