That looks great. Different tail lights right? Nice job! There have been a gazillion different blue colors over the years but I like this one a lot. I liked Oxygen Blue back in the day too, but that was Justacooper only I think.

How's the yellow tint over the fog lights working out?

Your car looks great!

How did you make the grille blade red? Wrap? Plasti-dip? Paint?

How did you do the foglight in yellow? I was hoping to do that, but found that it was too convex. Also a bit concerned with it fading or coming off somehow.

Thanks!

Bump for more info on the yellow fogs... Did you have to remove the lights to tint them? Any special technique due to how convex the lights are? How are they holding up? Thanks!

Hi
No I didn't remove them as I see how to after removing the front tires. I applied them with the film and the film is starting to buckle on the edges. Im going to have to redo them when I find the time.

Ok- so you inspired me to give the yellow tint another try. I have absolutely no idea how you put it on with the lights installed- tried that once and it didn't work at all. So I removed the lights.

The left light was pretty easy to get out. Remove wheel, remove the access panel, unscrew 3 screws, unscrew a screw on the inner fender liner, peel that back enough to jimmy the light out. It's too big to fit through the access panel.

The right light was another matter- it's surrounded by the washer fluid reservoir, so the only way to get it out is to remove the bumper. Well, to undo the right half of it and bend it forward 6 inches so you can get it out through the top. The hardest part were the clips holding the outer fender trim to the bumper lip. Just keep pressing the tabs up, and they'll come off eventually. I have weak fingers btw. It took about an hour (working in the dark of night didn't help) of prying and cursing.

Ok, so once the lights are off, it's not too difficult to apply the tint. Just a lot of heat to get the tint soft enough to really really stretch over the convex shape. And yeah I got wrinkles around the edges too... I think it's unavoidable. But having the lights off, I could put the tint all the way around the edges and down to the bottom lip of the front lens- total coverage. Hopefully this keeps water away, and helps them to not peel off... If they do start to peel, well, I've got a full set of 3 yellow bulbs to try.

I would take black electrical tape and start around the edges of the light and pull as tight as possible before take breaks and rap around several times to make a rubber like seal with the tape I did that with the headlights. this helps a lot.... trust me plus it make it look cleaner...

That car looks mahvelous! Next mod: paint the wheel arches body color. I think that's the most striking body mod ever. I've only seen a few pix of people having it done and it's striking. Last person said they paid about $2 grand. I'm thinking about doing it in Chili Red myself.

Have yet to see an F56 with painted arches, in EB that might look pretty cool.

I hope someone can dig up a photo of body color wheel arches. That seems like an especially bold mod - I can't even imagine it - need to see it!

Like I said it's the most striking body mod I've seen, especially if the car isn't black/gray. There were a few R56's. They sand the plastic so it's smooth like the metal body before they paint it. It's like a different car without all that black plastic.
