Spoke with service at Mini of Pittsburgh - they said there was no software fix available, but that it would rev match in 2nd if I pulled back harder on the shifter when downshifting. This made no sense, and not surprisingly, had no effect when I tried it. I'm confused as to what some dealers have in fact done to fix this - anyone know? No one at several dealers or MINI-USA knew anything about the software updates mentioned.

refer them to bulletin # SI M12 03 15

Wondering if they just don't want to go to the trouble of updating it...it's a ~4+ hour process

I just had my JCW Tuning Kit software installed on Jul 30th and when they installed it, they also updated all of the software and I now have Rev-Matching from 3rd to 2nd!

sorry to hear that the Pittsburgh people were useless, but I'm not surprised.
There is definitely a software update that will correct it though.

good luck tracking down the right person to help you out.

It's almost embarrassing how little the dealers know or claim to know. There is so much more knowledge available on these forums. If a dealership really cared about providing an adequate level of customer service, maybe they would have someone read the forums on a regular basis to learn about issues that they might not have seen in person yet.

FYI it took me MONTHS, many phone calls with the dealership, and multiple trips there to get this update installed and the rear shocks replaced.

Took my '15 MCS to the dealer today with that specific complaint: no 3>2 rev matching. What they did was to update the basic vehicle software to (I suppose) the latest version. Now it does the rev matching! There is reference on the RO to the #12 03 15 service information bulletin.

I've never before had this rev matching feature on any motor vehicle, and so I didn't really look for it until recently. Now that I know I have it, and have used it some, I really recommend it.
