F55/F56 Runflats - keep or replace?
Question for those guys going with non-RF tires: so you're feeling comfortable enough to rely on roadside assistance or AAA should you have a flat? The risk of being stranded in the middle of nowhere during a long road trip is a bit disconcerting to me.
No Need to be Stranded
The kind of flat that would leave you stranded would most likely ruin a runflat as well. I carry a compressor and a bunch of plugs. You can get the whole kit at AutoZone. From the dash notification to up and running again is less than ten minutes. Just get far enough off the road to be safe.
Not very much. I got $200 for all 4 practically brand new tires, after haggling.
Exactly. I wouldn't have traded them in if not for my first week driving experience with a flat tire and nobody carrying that tire. I didn't do it because it was a bargain, I did it because when I walk into a tire store, I have the expectation that I will be able to leave in an hour with a new tire. None of this "We'll put it on order for you" crap.
what's a good non run flat?
I have a 2013 countyrman and the front tires already needs to be replaced at 29k. I want regular tires hate these run flats. But I was quoted $1,174 for 4 new perelli's non run flats. Seems kind of high for regular tires. My current tire size is 205/55R17.
I had a honda CRV for 12 years prior to this car and never had to use my spare.
Please any suggestions on good tires and a place to go would be greatly appreciated.

I'm located in the San Francisco Bay area near Berkeley. I wanted to rotate but the dealer kept telling me you don't rotate tires on mini's which never made sense to me.
Yeah I already had two run flats replaced because of nail but bought the stupid warrently on the tires at $1,600 when I bought my car because I knew nothing about run flats.

I'd recommend using only the exact size MINI specifies for your car, which is found on the driver's doorjamb and in the Manual. Also, it seems you'd get better advice from a tire specialist (America's Tire in Walnut Creek?) than from your dealer. And you definitely don't need to get runflats again - conventional tires are fine, and maybe even better.
Also worth mentioning, going to the 215 non runflat made a night and day difference between my handling and comfort. The car is now super sticky and rides like it's on 16s.
