Trailer Hitch

Can you put a trailer hitch on any of the Minis?
I don't see any offered on the build site.
I need to move my sailing dinghy now and then.(very light weight)

A bolt on hitch is usually easy to source.
The correct wiring to accommodate the newer ECS systems is a pita.
Was hoping for an OEM option.

I know I'm late to the party on this thread, but I was just wondering what the weight limitations for towing and the F56 S are. It sounds like it's not something supported by MINI, so does installing a hitch and pulling a trailer void any part of the warranty?

And what kind of trailer are we talking here? One of those small trailers for hauling firewood? A Palimino pop-up camper? That's almost bigger than the MINI!

Minimania.com just added a hitch to their website. It's hard to tell from the pictures how much cutting you will have to do to the bumper trim. Anyone out there install this hitch?

Torklift makes one specifically for Mini...They have a video showing how it is installed ..for use with bike racks or most anything.

U-Haul used to make a trailer hitch for my 2005 R52 S convertible. The hitch has been discontinued but there are still some available as NOS. I am having a hitch installed on April 22,2015. The hitch and the special wiring kit is going to cost me $450.00...installed. I have had U-Haul hitches installed on other cars and have always been satisfied with their products and work.

My wife is disabled and I will be hauling a mobility scooter...not much weight.

So strange, that Torklift... partial install video (which is an interesting approach, hanging it from the undercarriage) but no completion or install photos. I can't for the life of me figure out where the hitch goes with a centered exhaust... with a 'no drilling' design.

On the minidimore-now-outmotoring design, which I used on my R53 and R55, you installed to the subframe of the bumper, and the hitch was centered, and above the exhaust. On the R53 it hid in the spot where the third light goes, and on the R55 you drilled a hole and tucked it behind the license plate mount.

PS coopercrap is developing a version similar to their R60/R61 hitch, so for those with the 'bike rack prep' feature, that's a good option. Will be for me!
