I was wondering how the F56 is setup with lights when you unlock the car with the remote? I saw some videos showing the daytime running lights turning on when the vehicle was unlocked. Mine only flashes the blinkers notifying me the car is unlocked but no lights stay on. Anyone know how the system is supposed to work?

Mine is in the settings for lighting on my Nav screen.

 

What is the settings called? Welcome Lamps? I have those checked on.

That is correct - you are looking for welcome lights. Is your car equipped with automatic headlights? If so, the DTRL will only come on if the ambient light is low enough to turn on your headlights, otherwise only the signal lights will flash. Hope that helps! :-)

Yup. That's the Welcome Lights. It's pretty pretty at night if you have the LEDs.

What I don't like about the lock/unlock lights is that it only blinks the lights once when they become locked or when they become unlocked. I was expecting it to keep blinking if I pressed lock for second time and third time. This is bad in situations where you missed spotting the first blink when locking the door while walking away from your car. You keep on pressing lock and don't know if it's really locked or if it became out of range.

 

Couldn't agree more! This is the main reason I coded my car to fold up the mirrors on lock; A quick glance back at the car and you know it's locked:-) Totally worth the 9 dollar cable.

 

Ah.. I wish I had the folding mirror.. and the tilting mirror on reverse.. along with the heated seat, and the infotainment screen, and the Storage Package. But then it would have cost me too much.
