Stalling engine, restarting

While most won't admit it, I have stalled my car (MCS with manual trans) a couple of times. As anyone who drives a manual knows, this only happens when you've got someone right on your *** at a stop light. The restarting procedure doesn't appear to be quite a simple as putting the car in neutral and depressing the clutch (as it would with the auto start/stop feature). I guess the stall causes the car to have to be restarted via the start toggle. Anyone else have this experience? Ideally, I will never have it happen again, but...

You're right. No one will admit to stalling ;-)

I've stalled 2x, both from selecting 3rd instead of 1st. I depressed the clutch and hit the starter as you had to. This was working as expected, as far as I'm concerned.

I've stalled 3 times...but right before the engine completely dies, I push in the clutch in a last ditch effort to save myself from embarrassment.

I then hear the starter engage, and the engine starts itself like its waking up from a start/stop cycle.

No buttons have had to be pushed...always thought it was a bit odd, but cool.

Same experience as Kinetic89. First drive from the dealership in stop & go traffic. Quickly learned to check the gear indicator as I dropped it in. No problems since.

this happens if you have start/stop engaged - if you've turned start/stop off, you would need to press the ignition switch to turn the car back on.

when I first picked up my car - I was still experimenting with leaving start/stop on, and ended up shutting the car off as it turned on after stalling (the engine is just so damn quiet at idle); now I just leave start/stop off all the time - and if I stall, I would need to use the start/stop switch like a normal car.

Ah, that makes sense...its too cool to turn off though, for that reason now haha.

I will admit I have stalled it a couple times. The clutch pedal is REALLY light and springy, its hard to feel the clutch point until you have driven it a few miles and figured it out, so yeah, stalled a couple times first day. The start/stop function restarted the engine as Kinetic89 mentioned. I like the function. Makes a stall a lot less harmful on the ego when its right back on again lol

I don't stall the car very often but am glad that the speedo has a gear indicator. I shift into R rather than 1 semi-frequently. 10+ years of being used to a Honda gearbox.
