F55 Pictures? Anybody delivered yet??

Does ANYBODY here have your F55 (4-dr hardtop) delivered yet? My dealer has "launch" cars, but customer cars have not been delivered yet. We signed the paper work (STUPIDLY) and our first payment is due soon and we STILL don't have the car. It was supposed to be delivered on Nov 29th.

I'll never believe a salesman again. EVER.

Why in the world did you sign paperwork on a car that was not even on the ground at your dealer? My wife's Acura had to be dealer transferred over 1500 miles and we were not asked to sign anything until the vehicle arrived on the dealers lot, 3 days later -- And had we been asked I would have walked right out the door.

What does your dealer plan to do to make it right? I'm guessing they are not making the payment for you? Do you have it insured already?

Prolly tried to squeak that deal out for the end of November. They will work with you, just ask.

Not delivered yet. I ordered 10/7 and it just hit the CA port on Tuesday. It'll probably be another 2-3 weeks before it gets to the dealership.

I did, however, drive one of the demos they have. It really is very nice and made me more anxious for MY car to arrive.

I almost always do the right thing. I NEVER make mistakes.. Heck, we bought this car at a pretty big discount over what they wanted.. BUT.. i was sick, taking nyquil and the wife wanted her car and the sales guy promised it saturday if we signed friday.. I was literally off my game and fell for it.

yes, it's insured and i signed caveat with < 15 miles on it or I don't accept it.

First payment due Jan 13rd, i should have it by then.

They BETTER make this right with a whole entire bag of mini things, hats, shirts, weatherTech Floor mats and so on or else I'll be writing the whole thing up and sharing it with MINIUSA and the sales manager (as if he would care).

So anyway, morale of that story, DON"T BUY A CAR WITH YOUR WIFE WHILE ON NYQUIL.

My truck purchase went SOOO much better. (because I was clear headed)

I would be talking to the finance/lease company about not receiving the car as promised. You're being charged interest or rent on something you don't have. Ask that the date of the contract be amended.

Brian,

So you are burning warranty days and you haven't even received your car? That is unacceptable! What happens if you have a major repair weeks after your warranty expires four years from now? And the car would have been under warranty if you signed and bought it when it had arrived and was ready to be delivered. I would be insisting that they redo the contract. Redate all. It seems like you are basically paying a month's payment on a car Mini still has in their possession. They love it because the store pays interest on each car until it is sold. So they have you paying their costs. Gee, maybe next they will want to charge you for storing and taking care of your car the month you owned it and they had it. Something doesn't seem right.

Mine wasn't ordered/delivered... I simply walked in to the dealership thinking about another MINI after many years without one... I had zero clue what was new and exciting in the MINI lineup... I drove out 2hrs later in this:

Good. Now the fun part. Go to the dealer, in person, ask for the contract to be voided or offer this: I need a check right now for my 1st payment and cost of insurance plus a written statement, on your dealer letter head signed by the sales manager that you failed to deliver my vehicle within 3 days of contract signing and that the warranty period shall only begin when the car is actually delivered.

If they say no to any of the above... right in front of them pull out your cell phone, call the local police department and report the car stolen, ask an officer come out to take a report. Then call you insurance company and report it stolen as well advising you will forward the police report once it's completed. I am almost positive before the officer arrives you'll be taken care of.

Yeah right, like that makes any sense at all. The OP said he was OK getting the car when they said they would give him the car in January. You pull a stunt like that in my dealership and I'd show you the door with your contract up your a#*!

For 4 door Mini that looks great. I like it way better than the Countryman, not as tall. Congrats.

we're not much for drama so we certainly won't be calling police or anything like that.

Our attorney reviewed the Tennessee state Consumer Protection law and says we can completely void the contract because the dealer failed to deliver on the promise of delivering a car after 10 days of the contract being executed. So we'll be doing that. The only possible way to resolve this with MINI is if they:
1) Deliver the car tomorrow
2) Change the Warranty period to begin at delivery date (Dec 13th)
3) Include Heavy Duty Weather Floormats
4) A mini hat and shirt for my wife

Even then, i'm still out $42 in insurance (i've been carrying it since the 29th) and of course the obvious warranty extension time frame as well.

Overall, I have owned BMW before and I love the brand, but this has been a completely negative experience from the get go. I think once we void tomorrow we'll actually start looking at some other brands because this has just been too exhausting.

The dealer has only responded to MY queries over these 2 weeks, they have NEVER proactively responded or updated me on status at all. They are CLEARLY trying to delay after getting a signed contract (which is MY fault for doing).

As stated by others, i WAS comfortable with getting the car in January (AND SIGNING PAPERWORK THEN), but then they said Nov 29th delivery, sign here and we jumped.

Disappointment comes when EXPECTATIONS differ wildly from experience. My expectations changed when he said nov 29th, thus my disappointment has grown 1000%

Contracting a vehicle that is not even in inventory or on ground is kind of a major no-no...

I don't know many dealers that will do that.

Why would you insure a car you do not possess? They have to insure it, they still control it.

Probably to lock in incentivized financing rates or discounts, since those don't carry over month-to-month, usually.

I'd be in the dealership demanding them to cover my first payment... and I work in automotive sales.

Unless they gave you a check for half of the month you paid for the car, or enhanced the deal in some other way, I would proceed to give the dealer a bad survey, and make sure you get on DealerRater.com and give them a bad review.

Bad habits should not be tolerated. I'm tired of shitty car dealerships continuing to screw over customers.

That would be funny if you put batman lights on the puddle light. I think I like the stock puddle lights.

Brian, so what did you end up getting for your trouble? Where's the hat and the t-shirt and the rest of the MINI goodies? Nice color.
