He would have to bend over backwards . the VIP was $249 on sale this month. My max on an intake would of been $350 ish..

I got a quote of something around 1400 shipped on the ARMA intake.
It is a variable controlled intake kind of like the exhaust.

Fancy stuff, not sure if it is really necessary lol.
$1400 for a intake thats some expensive stuff

You can also order an FI exhaust . $2899.00 + $160 for tips and $300.00 for shipping to the USA. There is also an option for an Ultra High Flow Catless downpipe for another $699.00 or Racing 100 Cell Catalyst pipe for $1099.00

ARMA have priced themselves out of the market for the EU and USA I think.

1400 USD for an intake for MINI owners is madness - fair enough if you have something like a RS Audi or M car BMW, but the average MINI owner doesn't have that kind of mod budget for something like an intake!!!

Shame, as I really, really wanted one.

I will be heading to Evolve Automotive a week today to have my GruppeM fitted.

Evolve are planning to make an intake for the F56 too, and I will probably make the switch to that once theirs is out. They should be doing something similar to ARMA in terms of a carbon duct to utilise the OEM style cold air feed, but it will not be a box design like the ARMA. Instead it will be a carbon cone similar to the GruppeM, but with a moulded cold air feed similar to the OEM, but in carbon.

Also been doing some thinking and I can't help but think this part needs looking at, as it suggests on the parts diagrams that it is a 'filtered air pipe' It connects from the turbo inlet to the air box.

Possibly could be replaced with a straight pipe?

Part 1 on this diagram:

and in silhouette here:

Couldn't wait anymore... SO i bought a NM Intake...
Still can't hear any extra noise when i drive my F56 with that intake lol

Maybe i have to really floor it to hear it.... But then that still would be useless as i don't FLOOR it every time i get behind the wheel.

Maybe also needs to be in sports mode

PS: Only if i lived in japan...... http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B00SL3A2Y...=1&dra_ohs=0-0

Cutting the muffler out has satisfied my needs for some sound and at <$100, it was well worth it.

Needs to be in sport mode. I can't really hear mine in any other.

Not the case with the GruppeM!

It sounds awesome in both, but it is better in sport!

The ECU must do something with the BOV noise, as it is definitely more prominent in sport.....

I have the HK, so yeh I have the tunes playing most of the time!

Obviously when its loud you don't hear the intake, but driving round under 30 mph you can hear the intake clearly.

At 70 or you can hear the turbo sucking in air more than you could before the GruppeM was fitted

R99, thank you for that vid. Hearing that has dispelled my worries that something was wrong. I'm just running a BMS tune and I was worried there was something wrong when I would hear that intermittent sucking sound. I guess I can chalk it up to being new to turbos.

Anyone have a source for the GruppeM unit in the states? On their website they don't list anything specifically for the F56. Price will be a big factor also. Unless something else really impresses me I'm leaning toward the Cravenspeed system.

I have created my own using a spare airbox lid I brought from eBay. Here's what it looks like.
Also developing and enclsosed version

Just like the R56 Turbo the F56 we don't see it gaining 10hp with an intake, at least in stock trim. So we aren't going to claim that to sell them. I'd say if there is any HP gain it's only a couple horsepower. It does gain sound and a cleanable filter more than anything else. I can't wait to hear what customers that get them experience as that will be the real world findings. If you want our intake, or any intake don't buy it for HP you will be disapointed, buy it for sound and what fits your budget.
Great to hear honesty from a seller. Goes a long way to foster and maintain a loyal customer base. When I do find one, I become a long term customer

Cheers!

So a while back somebody posted about a ram air style intake for the F56 that mated up with the hood scoop on the 'S' cars. I've searched all over for that posting without any luck. I thought it was the Giomic unit but I've been to their site, and even with Google Translating things I haven't found anything like it. Can anyone point me to whoever it was that was selling or developing this item?

It's made by duell ag in Japan. Gigamot are the German dealer for them. As far as I'm aware it's a whole new bonnet to work with the ram air style intake.
