F55/F56 Intake options
It is fake, but you can remove the piece that blocks air from entering it. It was the same on the R56 and some companies make intakes that used it. I haven't seen anything for the F56 yet.
On the F56, even if you removed the insert, the actual intake opening is at the rear end of this cavity in the hood and there is a "shelf" of sheet metal in the way, so I'm not sure there is a practical way to duct air from there. Unfortunately.
I think its going on the dyno again (for the 3rd time) pretty soon.
The previous two dyno sessions have apparently come to an abrupt end due to the development car (owned by MTS in Taiwan) having an alignment issues which is a safety concern when running on the dyno.
I really want this intake as it looks so mega but its a hard price to swallow.

The GruppeM is 60,000 JPY - which works out at just under £410 (including 20% UK customs import charges) but not including shipping, which would probably add about £100 to the total.
I think thats a bargain compared to the ARMA intake which works out at 844 GBP delivered and with the import tax paid.

Update - decided to go ahead and order the GruppeM intake.
Evolve have got it on order from me and I will be making a day of it and heading down to them for a before and after dyno.
It will also give Evolve the chance to poke around the F56 - so everyone is happy!
Will update once its on the car.

I did it a week or so ago and the car sounds fantastic now

Worth pointing out that the dyno figures are with the optional variable intake filter.
I'm pretty sure this is controlled via a remote (similar to valvetronic exhausts) which opens a flap and when 'fully open' will let the air be sucked in directly and will not pass through the filter. This function is to give maximum airflow.
Price as used on that dyno run is $1540 plus $150 shipping and whatever tax you would then have to pay.
Awesome, but cost prohibitive for me :(
Landed in the UK it would be £1320, £250 more than my Remus exhaust!!!

Thats why I ended up going with the GruppeM.
Evolve here in the UK will also be using one of their carbon pods in conjunction with a carbon fibre air duct to replace the OEM air ducts.
