We would've has ours in five weeks if it wasn't for the EPA delay. 6 weeks is very possible for east coast. I dunno about west coast.

It depends on the production slot your dealer is using for your order. Then it depends on the ship scheduling. Then it depends on the VDC at the inbound port. Then it depends on the truck scheduling. Then it depends on the dealer prepping it. A lot longer than expected can happen even without government intervention. See the tracking threads on here for more information than may be good for you. I obsessed over it the first time and had fun with it the second.

I was told that they bumped my order to "3" which meant customer sold instead of regular inventory, Im not sure how much faster that will be.
I did not order many options on my vehicle.
Typically, when it goes into production, how long untill it leaves the factory?
Thanks for all the replies

It depends....
So man factors...
Even storms on the north Atlantic that affect shipping times can delay stuff...
Going back to 2004....
I ordered mine 6 MONTHS before I got it....
But I had it in my driveway 4.5 WEEKS after it was completed....on the east coast...
So much depends on random luck.....
Good luck...enjoy the wait!!!

I placed my order on 9/13.
Production started 9/29, finished production 10/3.
Waited for the ship since 10/9, then was loaded and took off on ship 10/20, then arrived at west coast Port HUENEME, CA 11/12.
I got an email just yesterday (11/15) from the dealer saying it's now waiting for the truck. Once it's loaded, it'll take 3-4 days to the dealership in Portland, OR.
So, as of right now, I'm looking at 10 weeks minimum for the total time.

Track by VIN number:
Put your VIN number in the Cargo ID box, and click Track.
If nothing shows up, it means they haven't received the cargo yet, or could be a delay in their system.
If it's there, then click your number under Voyage Number. You'll see Vessel Detail in a new window. From there, get the 7-digit IMO number. For example, mine was 9377494.
Then replace the last 7-digits with yours in below address:

And I got the name of the boat from my MA. For the last few days I tracked it on Marine Traffic (https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais.../vessel:ANIARA) - watched it go through the Panama Canal. Totally geeked out.

I know the above as fact; my 2007 R56 came across on K-Line and it took several calls to find the ship's name. Once I figured out you tell the customer service rep. you want to track a BMW vehicle it becomes much easier.
