2015 Hardtop Cooper S JCW Exterior Package

Hi All,

I contacted my MA earlier today asking about the availability of the 2015 Hardtop JCW exterior package since I saw a few pix of the new hardtop with the JCW Aero kit on this forum. It is indeed available at $2,500 ($3,250 for the base Cooper). He told me that the JCW ext pkg includes:

- 17" JCW Track spoke wheels
- performance control
- rear spoiler
- JCW Aero Kit
- white turn signal

That seems a bit pricey to me and he also mentioned that it does not even include the LED headlights.

Can the forum members with the 2015 MINI Cooper/Cooper S Hardtop with the JCW exterior package please confirm this information? Is something missing from the list above?

Cheers,

JCW door sill finishers is also included (at least in europe).
you also get sport suspension settings for free with this package, if you want.

Not that pricey to be honest. Just the kit is probably $1,200 without paint. That's about what I paid for the R56 JCW kit at least. With paint plus installation you're probably looking at $2,000. Then you've got the wheels and spoiler for $500 total. What is performance control?

Thanks both for your info and comments.

I checked the MINI USA website and found out that performance control is already standard on Cooper S but not regular Cooper. Don't know what it is exactly but maybe help with control when you drive it hard/cornering?

I still think the pkg is a bit steep considering the Convertible/Coupe/Roadster JCW exterior pkg only cost $2000, xenon headlights included. Although you could argue that the price for the 2015 hardtop S JCW ext pkg is in line with those of Countyman/Paceman ($3250/$3000, xenon included).

It could have been a bit less expensive. I just love the Chili Red on my MINI as I think it is the best RED for the MINI (no offense to the Blazing Red owner!). Just too bad that it has to be associated with the expensive JCW pkg.

To me, the price helps justify getting a full JCW...considering that JCW exterior packs are typically about half way between cooper s and full JCW. The price different between Countryman All4 and Countryman JCW is $3750. The price of the JCW exterior pack is $3250...so ~$500 difference.

If the JCW pack cost is $2500 - a full JCW may only cost $5000-$5500 more than the cooper s base.

We'll see.

I paid between $6500 and $7000 more for my fJCW than an MCS. I think the base price was $31,500. For that I got the body kit (which rocks), the Brembo brakes (ditto) and the bigger turbo (double ditto). And anthracite headliner, a price break on some 17" wheels, and the JCW steering wheel, shift boot (no biggie). I think that was about it. I have BiXenon blackout headlights, but I don't think they were part of the package. So $2500 for the standalone body kit isn't that bad considering you see it all the time. You only use the brakes once in awhile, and the F56 is faster than the R56 car. It looks just like a factory JCW minus the red brakes.

Cheers,

That is correct - I picked up mine yesterday from NYC (ordered Sept 30) and paid an extra $500 for the cup spoke wheels

Well spotted! I have Eibach springs and H&R spacers for it but might drive it for a bit before I decide whether to install them - I'll start a new thread as don't want to distract from the OP question etc

Official MINI description for Performance Control:

"New for the Cooper S Hardtop is Performance Control, which is a software modification to

Dynamic Traction Control, the MINI more agile even before other safety features kick-in and “take over.” In other words, it suppresses initial understeer common in front-wheel-drive vehicles allowing you to have more excellent motoring at your own pace."

I believe it also includes Launch Control, but I don't know for sure.
