JCW Alcantara Steering Wheel

I want an JCW Alcantara steering wheel. I hope they will make one for gen3 soon!
I absolutely love the existing one for gen2. My friend has it. It is thick and soft. Do you think it would fit on gen3? ECSTuning maybe knows if gen3 steering wheel has the same fittings as gen2?
I saw the gen2 JCW Carbon shifthandle was fitting on gen3, so there might be other parts using same standard/fittings?

The Gen 3 MINI wheel is unique and like Gen 2 can fit on the Gen1 . I believe this is the same. Also the hook up and connection for the wheel pads would be different behind the slip clock ( wiper arm column ). Based off what MINI has done in the past, most likely down the road the new sport steering wheel for Gen 3 F56 's will come in alcantara. Possible for the new F56 JCW .

Stock steering wheel vs JCW steering wheel. I have felt the new JCW steering wheel and it feels the same thickness , but the texture and stitching look and feels better.

Stock vs. JCW steering wheel

JCW steering wheel:

Then the little black JCW logo lower insert: 32306864894

Thats all the info I have at this time.

Thanks

I have the JCW wheel and it's pretty much the regular sport wheel with red stitching.

I was at the dealership today and as much as I love Alcantara and carbon fiber I really like the standard JCW wheel better. It just has a better shape in my opinion.

I had an Alcantara JCW wheel for several years but have now switched to an all-leather one - this is all on second generation cars. The Alcantara feels and looks nice but it doesn't really work very well as a grippy surface, unless you are wearing gloves (or have wet hands, when it is superb!). In contrast the leather offers consistent grip all the time.

I had heard that the Alcantara is also not terribly durable and so found that I used to take care not to abuse it (eg, slipping it through my fingers) whereas I don't need to bother with that on the leather version - indeed some wear may actually increase grip.

Regarding wear. The gen1 alcantara steering wheels usually looked bad pretty fast. I have not seen any gen2 like that, maybe it was made with better quality alcantara.

You need the clean the alcantara every once in a while. Otherwise with time the finish will age faster from the oil in your hands.

Alcantara is an old proprietary name for an artificial leather suede-like product. It's on my Recaro seats and it's great. Not sure I'd like on a steering wheel.
