It is fixed. Was fixed in April I believe. Older cars need a new flash. Newer ones will have it I assume.

There is a fix out there in the version of a software update. I had it done on my car a couple weeks ago and now it works on second gear.

So if your car isn't rev-matching 2nd gear, give your dealership a call!

Regarding Auto rev match, what is the best way to get a smooth shift using auto rev match? Quickly let off the clutch before the revs start going back down, which sometimes jolts the car? Or slowly let off the clutch?

Clutch, downshift, let the auto rev match get the rpms all the way up then you can dump the clutch and feel nothing. 3rd to second takes a bit longer because of the higher rev jump. Don't release the clutch until the revs peak

Awesome, thanks! I now know why the rough downshift is 3rd to 2nd. I had assumed I had waited too long and the revs were dropping, but I guess they weren't high enough yet.

Turn off DSC and you can heal/toe to get quicker downshifts.

Yup. My one complaint about the new 2 liter engine is it is slow to rev. Love the extra torque vs the old 1.6 but damn if it isn't slower to spin up for aggressive downshifting.

(I presume this is a side effect of the extra counterbalancing shafts that make the engine so smooth — more mass to spin up.)

kind of extreme, I don't like turning off DSC unless I'm at a track or autocross
