F55/F56 Automatic rev-matching
All cars currently being built will continue to have this same issue. Next spring, April-ish, during that production run the original software will be put back in place. At that time it will be made available to those of us that have cars and want it installed via a flash.
So good news is that we can get it back. Bad news is that I get to wait for something from Mini again......

Not sure on whether they will be proactive in telling us or if we have to request it. I figured I would take the winter off from calling mini people and check in again in April if they haven't called me first. I'll be sure to let all know if/when that happens.
I left a message for mini of Loveland so that they could stop tirelessly investigating for me. :(

Are we all Mini of Loveland CO people? nice to meet you all haha.
I also noticed that it would not rev match a lot going into second. I originallythought it was because I was coming from 4th->3rd->2nd and it just didn't register sometimes or I didn't notice. When I am coming from just 3rd to second it seems to rev match.

Welcome to the club, savage.
I did speak with the folks at MOL today. The word is that 2015's do not rev match into second (congrats to those with cars that do), and the gentleman I spoke with expects this to be fixed in a software release down the road.
Sounds like mkdiehl's information is spot-on.

So the story I got is a little different..... My SA told me that rev matching was turned off in 1st and 2nd gear on 2015's due to the EPA issues. He said they MIGHT put out software in the spring to turn it back on.
They also tuned down the exhaust so it doesn't grumble/pop as much as the 14's.

Mmmm, glad mine is a '14 then. Great sounds in "sport".
I can't tell you how psyched I am! Let me explain. I just got a call from the service manager and he told me about the reintroduction of that feature. Cool. Now he may be BS-ing me but he said he ran my complaints up the chain and spoke to some reps (not sure who) and this bulletin is a direct result of those conversations. I choose to believe him.
I was told earlier in this thread that rev matching doesn't work in second on MCS's and to accept it. No, accept nothing. Talk to these people and tell them what you think. Maybe you'll have a good service manager who listens and acts and changes things for the better.

I just came across the window sticker for my 2014 F56/S and it's printed right on the sticker "6 Speed Getrag manual transmission with rev matching". Anyone have the window sticker for a 2015 F56 that can confirm/deny it's printed? Just wondering if MINI advertised it the same way on 2015 models.
Selling cars on a feature that is missing. Now waiting until next April to fix it maybe. BMW customer service showing its true colors again. Could they maybe be waiting for a huge volley of complaints or the filing of a class action suit before acting?
The rev-matching was the first thing I noticed when MINI Canada held a test drive day on an autocross course this fall.
People looked at me as if I had two heads when I mentioned it to a few of the folks who were in my test drive group. Glad to see I wasn't going crazy

Not sure how many cars you have ever owned or how long you have owned a MINI for that matter, but one thing is for DAMN sure. Of all the brands out there ( I am in the biz myself with MINI and have owned new; 4 European, 2 Asian, 3 domestic cars) BMW/MINI is by far the best at making it right when it comes to issues with their product line and doing right by their customers....
My first BMW was a new 1600. My last was a new '92 525i. My MINIs are in my sig.
BMW used to be first rate. They didn't stonewall on problems like the CVT, high pressure fuel pump, timing chains, etc. They didn't tolerate dealers blaming carbon build up on bad gas.
They advertised success in autocrossing but stopped providing limited slips without warning in 2010. In 2012 they sold JCW suspensions for the roadster and NEVER provided them. BMW has changed for the worse, and other manufacturers being bad is no excuse.

Hey people... Interesting news about he rev matching feature not working properly in '15 cars. I was searching around here to see if it still exists since I think it would be awesome for Autox / Track time in the new JCW.
I'm sub'ing to see when this gets fixed. FWIW I couldn't find reference to the feature on miniusa, but that site is pretty bad in terms of the organization of information so I'm not surprised.
Perhaps the F56 manual is delayed because they want to figure this issue out.
