What tires came on your 2015 or 2014?
There's been talk on other threads about what tires come on your new MINI. This is an item no one seems to have any control over. - just the luck of the draw when your car is built. Whatever is put on at the factory you're stuck with - good or bad. I haven't taken delivery yet of my first MINI, a non-S hardtop, but my dealer here in Colorado tells me they usually come with Pirellis or Continentals. He says they're "sticky" and grip well but don't last too long. Those brands are respectable to me and I think I will be satisfied if that's how my car is delivered. There seems to be a lot of variance in tires on new MINIs so I'm wondering what you lucky folks that actually have new MINIs are riding on and if you're satisfied or have upgraded or got the dealer to swap them out. Also, if anyone knows, does what country you're in a factor in what is put on at the factory?

The Meal, also Loveland here. Isn't it poetic? We'll be picking up our new babies in the land of love! A love baby!
I talked to my salesman yesterday, my MC has still not been released to the trucking company even though it was released by EPA on the Sep. 29. Best case, I'll see it late next week. He said there would be some form of compensation "to make me happy."
I ordered June 26 - how about you?

Nope. Though to be fair, none of the on-the-car options particularly appeal to me. The only acceptable rubber for winters out here is dedicated winter tires (I'm fond of the Blizzaks).
I'll evaluate whatever performance tires they put on my car next spring.

Yowza. You're a patient customer. I bet that ends up suiting you well.
I ordered on 8/18 and got a production number almost instantaneously (as someone else had just backed out of their order), so I was put into production in an unheard of 8 day span. The car came out of the factory on 9/1 and was on a boat on 9/9. It's probably not the world record for shortest time from ordering to making it on a RoRo boat, but it's gotta be close.
Unfortunately the last information I had heard was from the Wallenius Willhelmson website on 10/4 when my car was off-loaded in Port Hueneme. Unbeknownest to me, my MA's last day on the job was 10/6 and I haven't heard from her replacement as of yet. The Owner's Lounge hasn't noted that the car has made it to the VDC. Based on past history (see my signature block), my expectation is to see the car sometime around 10/24 or so, but the EPA hold-up may have farther-reaching ripples than I expect.
Would be nice to hear from my new MA (D.P.)...
Good luck to you!

I (now) understand.
My take on it is that if I'm going to have dedicated winter tires, why spend the summer driving around on a compromise tire? At least that's how I did things for my R56. As it turns out, it's likely going to feel a bit like a compromise when I spend next summer driving around on the performance run-flats which come with my car (unless I sell them in the meantime).
Colorado is a rather dry place in the summer, and our mountain twisties demand top-notch sneakers.
Happy motoring!

The tires I got seem grippier than my former runflats and my former Bridgestone Potenza non RFs. I bought the car in Scottsdale so summer tires are the norm but these things are great. And they don't rattle my teeth at all like my first set did.
Speaking of winter, I believe the concept of all season tires is only applicable in New Mexico or Texas or any place where the temperature normally stays above freezing and there is little or no snow. In Canada at least, all season is truly 3 season.
But that's just me,
Adrian
2015 Base model, 15" wheels, non-run-flat HANKOOK Optimo H246 165/65-15 all season. As I mentioned on another thread, HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE tires. AVOID AVOID AVOID. The only redeeming quality of these tires is that they keep the bottom of the car from dragging on the road surface. Perhaps I should compare with and without tires as dragging without-tires may well be an improvement.

you have my sympathies and hopes that you may find new rubber before resorting to extremes. I wonder what the heck MINI was thinking?
