The bottom half mounts to the carpet as before. This will help ensure the desired gap is maintained between the mat and the base of the accelerator pedal, and the mats will stay rock-solid in position.
My new Cocomats came with the Velcro plates on them. Evidently if Cocomat people determine your car has the Velcro they put them on for you. My 2007 Cocomats didn't have Velcro and neither did the car. Somebody from Cocomats actually called me and made sure mine was a 2014 R58 not a 2014 F56 because they are cut differently.

By "Velcro plates" do you mean the round patch of Velcro in the outer left side of the mat (driver's side)? My '07 R56 has them, which matches up to the Velcro on the plush mats I got from my MA upon delivery. Or did you order a different model?

My driver side cocomat (from cocomats.com, #51 red and black, front and back) came with large velcro circles on the driver mat only. The passenger mat has no velcro. I think cocomats will velcro the other mats for $25 a piece? As mentioned before these mats are really heavy and fit well and arent going anywhere. At the most Ive had a half inch forward shift of the passenger front mat after a day trip with a lot of in and out of the car, but nothing dramatic and nothing a bit of velcro can't fix. As ridiculous as it sounds, I love my floormats...money well spent.

Not ridiculous at all. I was wondering what kind of mats to put in, but it was a no brainer when I saw yours! They really set off the JCW interior we both ordered. My only question now is whether to get the #51 or the large checked type, but I'll have to wait until I see the exact red colorline that mine will have. That's where our interiors differ.

Tried ordering swatches and emailing them again, still no reply or swatches or any contact whatsoever... Depressing... I also noticed that their site went down for a week or so when I tried to order?

I have 3 swatches--all black, black with small amounts of red, and red and black large checks. You're welcome to them...pm your address and I'll send them.

I really appreciate it! However I'm looking for the checkerboard pattern!

What's the number of the checkerboard pattern? That may be the third swatch I have.

I think it's 103? I just wish they'd contact me back! If I could at least get in touch with them then I would feel better about spending $300 but until then I think I'll pass but thank you deb!

The one I have in red and black is 101. If that helps, let me know and I can send it to you. If nothing else, you can see structure, backing, and the general pattern.

No thank you, I appreciate the offer! I'll try contacting them or I'll dig up something on their website :(

They seem like a family run business to me. Why not just pick up the phone and call?

You can call and talk to aperson. A person called me with a question about which 2014 model I had (R58 or F56). They cost about $150 shipped for the fronts.

I've ordered the mats (decided on #51, black with red flecks). They'll look great in my black, red, and light gray color scheme!

Please send pictures when you get them! That sounds like a cool color combo!

Daffodildeb, and anyone else who order coco mats, I'm stuck between the two piece and three piece just because nobody sits in the back very often and the third piece is another $100 but if I don't get it I feel like my car is incomplete... OCD thoughts in my head. Guidance please!

My take? Get some MINI swag instead. I'll probably never have anyone in the back seat. In 7 1/2 years I had exactly one person--my husband--in the back, as a joke, and he sat crosswise. You'll never need or notice the back seat mats. In fact, you're more likely to notice the lack of space if you're packing for a trip. My last MINI did quite a lot of traveling, and we learned to use every bit of space, including the rear foot space. You'd probably pull out the back mats out to save space because they're thick!

I decided not get the back mats and I am OCD also, I could not see spending that extra money and you cannot really see the mats unless you seating in the back seat. I can always add them. My 2 cents

I got black with red only for the front. Like others have said, I can't even see the back mats let alone use them. Picture of my black/red mats is post #478 https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...thread-20.html (don't know how to post pic again or move from other thread)

I think you guys just saved me $100 and very true about you can always add them later... I wish mini had mats like these standard or at least oem, I'm not a huge fan of their current "pattern trends" I guess you could say. Can't wait for my swatches!!!!

If they were sold by MINI, they'd probably be a lot more. Have you checked BMW/MINI parts lately?

And yes, I agree with you on the patterns. I considered the mats they make to match my JCW interior, but just didn't like them. They didn't look very durable, either. We've had coco mats in our Porsche 356. I think we've bought 2 sets...maybe 3. The car's 50 years old, and was our daily driver for years!

That's incredible! Very classy car, especially for a daily driver! Which cocos did you use for it? Just curious

I just remember the good old days during the prime of mini's styling when they offered the option to paint a helicopter landing pad on the roof of your car.

Well, it was a daily driver back in the '60s and '70s. Now it's a sunny day car. Except next week, when we take it up to Eureka Springs. I'll drive the MINI to MINIs In The Ozarks, and Hubby will drive the Porsche. As soon as the MINIs go home on Sunday, there's a gang of 356s coming up that afternoon for a few days--same motel! And 2 weeks later, it'll be time for Porsche Palooza--same motel! (They kind of understand car groups at Inn of the Ozarks.) Haven't decided yet if we're going back in the 911 for that one.

The mats we use in the 356 are black with a yellow-orange fiber. I'm not sure if they're made by the same company or not.

I think MINI still offers the helicopter roof graphic. Might not be on the configurator, but it's not paint, so it's not necessary to put it on at the factory.

I just orders the Furstil 6.6 mats in Medium Grey (#117) for my wife's car. I have a bunch of samples including the traditional coco material and we both liked the more tailored look of the nylon material over the coco. It also feels very durable and it looks like you can hose if off if you want. I soaked it under the faucet and it dried just fine. We ordered the Medium Grey because it was a very close match for the Black Pearl material in the sports seats. She initially wanted to go with the red (#119) which is a very close match to the Glowing Red Colorline trim but she decided that was just a little too much red and would be over powering for her tastes. Having the samples in hand is a help. I took some pictures of the samples in the car.

My personal observations.... The Furstil m+s has a lot of shine to it. If you are thinking of this one definitely get a sample. They were too shiny for us. The coco material sheds a lot. I bet this will reduce over time but this is one reason we went with the Furstil. The wool is nice, but not as 'tailored' as the Furstil and not sure how to clean it other than vacuuming. The Furstil wasn't cheap but it feels like it should last a long time.

I'll post pics when we get them in.

In these pictures the sample are:

Black and Red #51; Red and White #11
Red Sisal #48; Grey Wool #63; Dark Grey Wool #67; Carbon Furstil m+s #135
Red Furstil #119; Med Grey Furstil #117; Light Grey Furstil #116; Black Furstil #118
