F55/F56 Coco mat recommendation?
I have those exact mats and love them. BTW, we have the same car - 2014 MCS / Deep Blue / white roof and stripes. The mats work really well.

Are the mats as blue as in the photo that pops up when I click on the thumbnail here?

I just orders the Furstil 6.6 mats in Medium Grey (#117) for my wife's car. I have a bunch of samples including the traditional coco material and we both liked the more tailored look of the nylon material over the coco. It also feels very durable and it looks like you can hose if off if you want. I soaked it under the faucet and it dried just fine. We ordered the Medium Grey because it was a very close match for the Black Pearl material in the sports seats. She initially wanted to go with the red (#119) which is a very close match to the Glowing Red Colorline trim but she decided that was just a little too much red and would be over powering for her tastes. Having the samples in hand is a help. I took some pictures of the samples in the car.
My personal observations.... The Furstil m+s has a lot of shine to it. If you are thinking of this one definitely get a sample. They were too shiny for us. The coco material sheds a lot. I bet this will reduce over time but this is one reason we went with the Furstil. The wool is nice, but not as 'tailored' as the Furstil and not sure how to clean it other than vacuuming. The Furstil wasn't cheap but it feels like it should last a long time.
I'll post pics when we get them in.

Some of these pics have the flash on so it makes the grey appear a little brighter. The later pics don't have the flash.
My black-w/-red flecks mats (#51) came yesterday, just in time for a trip. They look gorgeous! If you have a JCW interior, where there is an interplay between black and red, with red stitching in the steering wheel & gearshift ****, you'd be hard pressed to find a better color. I have the red colorline, black "checked" dash.
So here are the pics. We really like them. The grey really matches the inserts in the seats. The lighter color brightens up the floor of the car and it doesn't look so much like a cave. At night the foot well lights reflects nicely off the mats.

I am having an impossible time with the stock floor mats because of my dogs. 2 retrievers and while they're never in the car, I seem to track a little dog hair into the car every day. Vacuuming it out is not doing the trick, even with my Dyson Animal vac.
Are the coco mats any easier to vacuum?

So I received my Cocomats Chequers mats. I preordered them in July and just got them :D Was worth the wait. I love them. Perfectly blend between my black interior and deep blue body. Exceptional quality.
Crappy picture, but you get the idea

Still look brand new :-)
Extremely well - coconut fibers are incredibly durable. That said, if you live in the far north where your boots bring a quart of slush/salt into your car every time you get in you may want to consider finding a plastic/rubber type mat that forms a 'bucket'. But really it depends on your goal - protecting your car vs good traction/looks. I lived in Boston during the winter of Robert Parrish's snorkel and I grew to hate the puddles in my Jeep.
Just ordered and received my Coco Mats. The material is great but the workmanship is the worst I've seen in years. The piping on the edge is very poorly stitched and it is creased and uneven. MINI mats are made from cheap material but the workmanship is 100x better. I sent photos to Cocomats and they said that these were up to standard...I would not buy form them again and have asked for them to take them back!

I've looked through the photos on this thread, and it's hard to see what other folks' piping looks like as the photos aren't to that detail. So I did a google search and what you're showing looks 'normal', based on the images I found. If the piping is hand-stitched - or a machine guided by hand like a sewing machine - then this is to be expected. Especially around tight corners. But if you're not happy, then yeah send 'em back. However, once they're in place I doubt you'd see the edging anyway. Easy for me to say - they're not my mats.
That being said, I know I'm **** about a lot of stuff and we're all different as far as what we're willing to accept or not. If you're not happy, I hope they work with you to make you happy.
The edging material is quite heavy, the bunching around corners seems unavoidable to me. Doesn't bother me at all on my set. In fact, my cocomats are one of my favorite things about my f55.
I guess I'm fussy. I have worked with my hands all my life and find one of the nice things with German cars is the way they are finished. When it comes to the car none of you would accept that kind of workmanship. So I find it interesting that you now justify the poor quality on the edge of these mats. Binding of the edges of carpets is not rocket science. Check out the mats at your hardware store. There are "binding/sewing machines that do a great job every time. Yes Coco Mats use vinyl but that is not an excuse for the crinkled overstitched creases etc..
Here's a random mat made by a competitor and this is the back side of the mat. There is no comparison as the binding is even, neat and clean cut.

There certainly is a big difference between the products. I wonder if it is a function of the material's used and not necessarily a poor quality issue. For instance the thickness of the mat may contribute to the uneven look. I don't know but it seems a possibility.
PatM. Think you are right. The material is a vinyl but it would be much cleaner if it was less wide. There is a ton of extra material on the back that "flaps" around. IOM they could use half the material and take their time with the stitching and I would be way better. I showed these to my carpet guy and he said for $40 he would redo them with his carpet binding machine and they would look perfect. That would mean a fabric edge in black.

If this were a thin, light weight fabric, it would be much easier to avoid puckering, but you would still have some. But that coco material is thick and coarse, so I'd say Coco Mats is doing a pretty good job. The binding material is also relatively thick, so that's another reason it has to bunch-up. The mats that you like are likely much thinner, probably the binding and thread are also thinner.
If the binding failed to lock in the edges of the coco material and allowed it to fray, I'd say you have a valid complaint.
I wish I could un-see that puckering. Now I don't think I could spend $$ for the "high quality" coco mats since seeing those photos.
Well, maybe I'm over it already. The black/red mats would look pretty good with the red color line.
