F55/F56 Recall - Airbag issue
Recall - Airbag issue
FYI, looks like it only impacts a portion of the 2014's for now. Hopefully it doesn't get expanded to the rest of the 14's or the 2015.

"2014 MINI Cooper Hardtop vehicles manufactured February 2, 2014 to May 30, 2014"
"The affected vehicles may have been manufactured with an air bag inflator that was not assembled correctly."
Dang, I think mine is one of the affected.
I need to check the manufacture date (month?) on the frame...

I'm in the mix here too with a 10 May delivery, but the notice said "27"? Is that for real - just 27 cars?
Driver's side door frame. Gives month and year.
Just plugged the last 7 digits of my VIN into the Mini recall info site below and it came back clean - no issues.

What good relating to this recall will do for you by delineating the 17-digit vin code?
I think I have somewhere a chart showing what each of the 17 vin code means... will have to look.

In this case it would show build date.
However my main interest is just being able to read the code.
I find that interesting.

Not much info in the VIN itself.
Vehicle Code info is not up to date but ...
FAQ: How do I decode the VIN on a MINI?
Well, not exactly.
The 10th digit of the 17-character VIN will ONLY tell you the last number of the model year.
For example, it will be number 4 for following model year:
2014
2004
1994
and so on.
