Finally got volcanic orange F56

I tried to wait for 2015 model but Can't resist the deal for 2014 F56.
My Wife's 7 years old R56 still runs well but my wife did not want to wait until Oct so we visited the dealer. we were looking for automatic with sports package but they didn't have any sports package car in the dealer lot. they said they can locate the car but they won't be able to give discount.
they had several other cars and we got cheapest one which has premium package 2 and some other options. Even though they did not have exact options (actually we were thinking about getting automatic without options so it was not that bigger deal), the deal was good so we decided to get it.

my wife test drive F56 first and keep saying "it feels totally different."
Still I did not think F56 can't be that much different than R56.
Paper works and dealer prep took a while but we were able to go home after 4 hours. Finally I sit on F56, I felt F56 is much roomier than R56. as soon as I push gas pedal, I understand that why my wife told me that 'feels totally different"
F56's power was noticeable and especially when I was switching lanes, I could feel good acceleration. early this year, there were several negative opinions on F56 so I was a little concerned about buying F56 but It's very solid nice car and my wife is happy about new F56. Hope it runs well like R56 (only one problem during 7 years : common thermostat failure).

there are so many new things in F56 so it's not fun to read the manual and remembering all those features though hahaha.

I came to this forum to get opinions on the F vs R debate too, before I purchased. I realized the vast majority of people offered a 1 sided opinion to this question and their opinions were based off their personal experience with the R and no experience with the F. I liked how the R looked, personally. But was surprised at all the negative attention the F was getting. I went and drove both and the F was just a better car

Nice! I'm considering VO too, but with JCW black side stripes instead of on the hood. So the VO is non-metallic paint. Is there any difference in quality with non-metallic vs. metallic?

Volcanic orange is non-metallic paint and I don't see quality difference between non-metallic and metallic. We just bought whatever cheaper F56 in dealership I am not a big fan of chrome but the car has chrome liner package which I won't order if I build F56.
my wife did not really care about color at that time. funny thing is we have three straight Yellow cars (I consider volcanic orange as yellow).

Just love the power of F56. with R56, we had a little problem with stiff hills but with F56, rides so smoothly in stiff hills and lane changes are quick and fast.
A little weird feeling for engine stop though but it will get used to it soon.

Before I bought my 2014 JCW Coupe in April I tried to hijack a VO F56 bound for SoCal from the Tempe, AZ dealership that was about what I wanted. Unfortunately someone else hijacked it before me. I bet it's a great car. I drove one and it's great. Not quite the JCW acceleration but very good. I loved the sport seats better than my 2007 ones. Where did you buy your car, kimguroo?

I am missing sports package T_T... There were cars which had sports package in your area. If I live closed to Arizona, I might drive F56 with sports package haha.
Anyway I saved about $40 per a month so it's okay.
I bought my car from Mini of south in Atlanta. Actually I bought 07 R56 from them 7 years ago too.

Wow, what you wanted is the exact car I ordered, LOL.
2015 Hardtop + $1250 Automatic + $1500 Sports package (black 16" wheels, all-season runflats), and that's it.
VO color with white top and white bonnet stripe.
It's currently being built.

Some people say negative things about F56's size, loook, etc. But like you said F56 has a vastly improved engine (B48) and that's the main reason why I bought it.

As you may know you can always turn that function off if you want. But once you get used to it, you would not want it turned off because you will get a weird feeling when engine keeps running when car is stopped.

That's interesting. Disabling this feature was like the very first thing I did. For the reason that if the engine is not running, there is no oil (or coolant? Not sure on these BW units...) circulating through the turbocharger.

Welcome to the orange club, by the way.

No sports suspension?

Our VO justa is "in production" currently. Trading in our very reliable R56 justa when this new 'kid' arrives.

Wouldn't the MINI/BMW engineers have worked that out? Could that be why the cars will restart if they feel the mysterious need? I'd like to think they are at least that competent.

Probably we order 2015 if 2014 deal was not great haha.
Nowadays I don't really think about sports package anymore though ^_^

We had one more incentive which even our dealer did not tell. MiniUSA paid $300 for our first payment so we paid about $45 for the first payment ^_^

Yes. I am get used to it now and when I drive my subie, It feels weird that engine is running during stops hahaha.

Have one small thing that I have to fill up gas every week instead of 10 days due to smaller gas tank than R56.
