Today is the first day!

Hey all - just wanted to say hey! I bought my first mini today. 2014 Cooper S Hardtop (black on black on black). Very exciting and what a cool comfortable ride (I am 6'3).

Quick question as I have been geeking out on it - I just went outside to checkout the lights and the cool cabin lights etc and noticed when I locked the car and the lights turned out, the hazard button continued to glow, the strip light around the stereo continues to pulse from time to time and the lights controls still glowed. Is this normal? Do I have something set wrong? Is the key too close to the car? (its like 100 feet away).

Thanks much for the info and hello!

There's a setting for the pulsing red LED ring called "heartbeat" (SETTINGS>CENTER INSTRUMENT - I think) If you uncheck it, it won't pulse. It startled me as well the first evening I got out of my car. But yes, it is normal and adds personality to the car I think.
