This is reportedly available in September from MINI….

JCW exhaust with carbon tips and bi-modal feature controlled with a bluetooth remote from inside the car. From what I understand it has two modes:

Number 1, which produces a sound identical to the stock S exhaust.

Number 2, which bypasses the rear silencer and sounds like this:

The crackles are amazing - I will be ordering for certain!

The question is......Can you get that installed on the mini's that are already ordered?

That's pretty neat. Not for me, but I can see why this system should be popular.

Was any target cost given on this system? I love the idea of the dual mode systems. I like the car to be able to breathe better but a single mode louder exhaust can really be tiring on long hiway drones. I'm interested to say the least.

Really hoping this can be fit to the 3 cylinder. I wouldn't mind having to source a Cooper S rear bumper to make it work, assuming that's all it takes to retrofit it.

wow! that does sound amazing when it revs! have to say im jealous!
dont care for the pops tho, it almost sounds like engine knock, but that could just be the video, prolly sounds different / better in person?

so is it a actuated dump valve? any idea how fast it opens / closes? always wanted to install one on my car, have it dump right after the header, but the videos ive seen of the dumps, the actuator opens so slowly... i wanted something that would quickly pop open at a certain RPM, or a certain throttle percentage.

Yes, I will be ordering although bluetooth sounds like a strange way of integrating it with the car. Would have thought it could tie to the driving modes as that just makes more sense to me. I would be really disappointed if they work it into the Mini Connected app. Great concept, but having to launch my phone every time and keep the screen on, locked to the app screen is tedious after a while. Guess we will see. Also wondering if they will keep it to around a thousand bucks. Man that JCW stuff can get really pricey!!

This is the best video I have seen of the Bi-modal to date. Fitted to a MINI USA car that is currently doing MTTS.

You can hear the change in sound when the flap is opened / closed.

This is set to be available in September I believe - I will be ordering for sure

and... just realized this won't be usable on a justa since the spare tire would be in the way. Drat.

I have a stupid question. Are the two exhaust systems (JCW / Remus) FULL exhaust systems that replace everything all the way to the exhaust manifold, or are they replacment mufflers that use the existing exhaust pipe?

I know the Remus is - and believe the JCW is also - a Cat-back system.

I'd imagine around the £1k mark? So maybe around 1700 USD?

Can you imagine how cheap it would be to just eliminate the rear muffler? If you would like the JCW sound all the time. I wonder how loud it really is inside considering the amount of soundproofing the F56 has.
I bet you could have a muffler shop get rid of the muffler for $100.
Also what's with the carbon fibre....seems so cheesy to me. I would go for something more like the previous JCW chrome tips - large and simple.

I think I'd be all over a Justa Turbo Back. Uncork a few ponies with a little growl for the morning commute. I like it when the town folk know I'm coming through. :-)

White roof radio just posted a short vid on their Facebook. This one shows a cool little button controlling it!
