F55/F56 Are you seeing fewer white roofs?
Are you seeing fewer white roofs?
Not sure if it is just my area/dealer but are you seeing fewer white roofs on the newer models? Using my dealer lot as my only base I'd say that for every 10 new cars on the lot 1 has a white roof, 3 body color and 6 black roofs.
Seems pretty wrong to me living in the hot California sun and that to me a Mini should have a white roof. Some of the colors look good with a black rood/wheels but I'm just surprised at the lack of white. Also overall the cars on the lot all seemed to be darker color combos, none of the lighter/brighter colors I somehow picture a mini should have.
Or is this just a temporary thing with the ban on contrasting roof color orders for a while? (but if so why so many black tops)

I think your last sentence is a big reason. Don't go by the stuff sitting on the lot right now, there was a production shortage on contrasting roofs through April and May, so most dealerships switched all their stock orders to body color roofs so custom orders could get the contrasting roofs. Probably only just now getting contrasting in for stock from stuff produced in June.
Looking out on my "driveway" right now, there is certainly a shortage of white-roofed cars. I was coerced into body colored roof/mirrors due to the factory limitations. Although I am more than happy with my MINI, I have no doubt there are more full body colored cars at your dealer. My MA explained that the real problem with contrasting roof combinations was the white paint that was chosen. There was a quality control issue with the white paint, so BMW decided to place a hold on ALL contrasting paint schemes.
