Wondering how you get the satellite radio working? I found the card stating I get a year subscription with the car, but could not find an option under radio or under multimedia to access satellite radio.

Any information on how I get this activated?

I got an ID number and called to activate my satellite radio.

 

I have a card as well, but I did some looking and it appears my car is only pre-wired for it. If the module is in fact present, it should give you the option of selecting it from the media menu. That's how it is in the BMW versions, same would apply to Minis I would think.

 

Are all the cars only prewired? I ordered the most upgraded system they offered and there was no box for Satellite Radio.

 

Yes, they all come pre-wired (at least, mine did, and I didn't get Satellite radio), but you can order the car with it on if you pick the stand-alone option for it. The Satellite radio does not come with the Wired Package or the Wired Upgrade package, not even Fully Loaded, its yet another option under Audio & Tech, $300.

Past generations could be activated by the dealer to turn it on, requires a special code and maybe a bit of work to trigger it on, they charge for doing it... about $300? Not sure if they've started doing it on the F56 yet though.

 

Yes,they are prewired.At time of order would of been 300$ including 1 year subscription.I did not order it,I asked my dealer how much to activate...695$ .ABSURD
