F55/F56 Weeping wiper ducts
do you have a weblink to that bulletin?
I do not, got it in an email this morning and sent that last reply while I was at lunch. Unfortunately, after lunch I came back out to my car and a drop of washer fluid had formed on the nozzle but not yet dropped to the paint. Yay...not. Apparently it's not "fixed".
Sadly, it didn't work. Came out yesterday to see it happen again.
Not encouraging. Having mine done tomorrow. Service manager said they couldn't guarantee it would fix the problem. They will replace 2 return nozzles and drivers' side nozzle.
Went to the Mini Dealer today to have my weeping ducts fixed. Seems they were to replace the drivers side nozzle and 2 return nozzles as an update. After I got to the dealership I was told there is an update to the update and needed to schedule another appointment. While I was there I looked at about 15 F56's they had in stock and nearly everyone of them had a drivers' side weeping duct.
Thanks. My service manager asked if my front nozzle leaked after using the rear. It doesn't. Sounds like a valve problem though.
Thanks
Looks like a called it correct a couple pages back

Here is the part called the Impuls-Eliminator. Thinking that's is the check valve for both those lines, check under your hood, is there one only one side. or one before both ? Not there at all ?

This looks like the check valve for the F56.

The repair order calls it 1 hour labor. Even if this is rounded up, can you imagine the waste of money making dealers all over--presumably the world--fix something that could/should have been done on the assembly line.
Plus damage to paint and stripes, of course.
Just the hit to the J.D. Powers surveys should be enough--you know, the one where you have to report how many times your car's been in the shop?

Mine did it for the first time the other day. Just the driver's side. Sent an email to our advisor for the next step. Appears to be related to heat. Car is usually garaged but on this occasion, was parked in front of the house on a very hot day.
Apparently only MINIs manufactured between certain dates have this issue.
I'll post an update next week after I bring it in.
For those of you who have had this issue looked at and repaired, has it happened again?
My local dealer did the "check-valve fix" yesterday and so far, so good. They admitted to me that it was a known issue, that they were somewhat experimenting with the solution, and asked me to let him know if the issue returned.
One thing I wonder about is what type of washer fluid Mini actually fills the car with on the assembly line. Whatever it is, it's some nasty stuff. Leaves white, scaly everywhere. I am probably going to siphon out the remainder of what's in the reservoir and replace it with some regular fluid.

Secondly, he also mentioned that the white scaly stuff may also be wax residue that the dealership may not have gotten off from the underside of the hood. I asked if this white residue would damage the paint, he assured me that it wouldn't.
Again, don't know how accurate this is, but I've been told by multiple people (not affiliated with this service center) this SA is super reliable and a MINI-uber geek so I may take his thoughts more seriously than I would other dealership connected service centers.
YMMV.

I neglected to mention a couple of things when I spoke with the MA this morning while scheduling the appt. He said never to fill it with "regular" washer fluid. I've never owned a BMW before, so rather than dismissing what he said, I'll merely convey that he said the regular stuff can gunk up the lines, and using the BMW concentrate is something strongly recommended. Well, he basically said NEVER use anything other than the BMW stuff.

Second, is this advice about the washer fluid something relating to the newer BMWs and the F56? I've used "regular" washer fluid on all my BMWs and MINIs, with no problems. What is so different about the BMW product?
A couple of questions--first did you mean SA (service advisor), or an actual MA (motoring advisor = salesperson).

And haven't a clue about "official" BMW washer fluid. I can say that in my previous car (Audi), I was told to use Audi fluid, but one time I used "regular" fluid, and had no issues.
