Automatic transmission discovery

I had been grumbling to myself as to why there wasn't a digital readout for the current gear with the automatic trans. Discovered today that if you move the gear selector to the left as if to put it in manual mode it shows the current gear. It's only when you actually move the shifter back and forth that it goes into manual mode, otherwise it's in auto sport mode and shows what gear you are in. Cool!

I use that feature all the time. I don't have the paddle shifters. Pretty cool.

Will play w/ it more, but moving the lever to the left shows a gear (S1, S5, etc.), but it seems like a different gear than what it was when in Drive. Used a paddle and put in Manual (M2, M4, etc.) -- downshifts when slowing, but I think you have to upshift. Need to study more.

Moving to the left puts it into sport auto mode, changing the shift points.

And when you're already in Sport mode, moving the lever to the left seems to usually downshift one gear.

The manual shows the gear constantly
also shows a suggestion for the next gear
ie: 3,4 or 3,5

Yep. It's the same transmission so it should.
