F55/F56 Dat Taillight...
Someone thinking your car is ugly isn't inherently something you should care about, but nobody likes seeing something they love continuously bashed. Disliking something is natural, but continuously expressing your opinion about how much you dislike something becomes something more.
I don't like Prius', but I don't go around on Prius forums saying how stupid I think they are and insulting those who do enjoy them. It's common courtesy, something sorely lacking from the internet these days.

Some members here are very bad about this.
There's some valid criticism to be made about aspects of the F56, though many of those are highly subject to personal opinion, but forum goers that have already well established on these forums that they dislike multiple things about the exterior, interior, ride feel, option structure and pricing on the F56, yet still take every opportunity to comment about what exactly they dislike over and over again... they get tiring. I can't tell if they're trying to win those of us who truly like our F56s over to their way of thinking, or waiting for someone to somehow change it back to how it used to be so they can like it.

For example, any criticism on here from me regarding the F56 is purely me expressing my opinion just like others are - whether positive or negative. Sometimes there is probably overlap due to discussions forming similar topics in different threads. There are as many positives with the F56 as there are negatives, but that's the point of a forum - to discuss it all.
I actually enjoy reading all the comments on here as it's interesting to see what people like and dislike and why.

I'm mostly referring to the vitriolic comments some people make. Sorry I was just browsing Motoringfile before I read this thread and it got me on a tangent. The "community" that comments on their F56 articles make me sad.
Ha, agreed on the child and vitriolic comments! I definitely try not to get too harsh when I comment negatively, but sometimes you have to vent too! I'm more frustrated about finding my future 'baby' since everyone is snapping up the 2013's!
My current 'baby' has been 'dropped' a few too many times and sad to say I don't think it's a worthy investment to buy out the lease, but I also don't want to leave MINI! It's just frustrating figuring all this out before my lease expires!

Mini-mine, I too am not new to MINI and I rather like the changes with the F56. I left one site and came back here, due to the bashing going on there. I agree that you are free to express your feelings, but do it ONCE and then move on. Over and over does get old.
As to as replacement MINI for you, there are many folks, three right near me, who bought new R53's, parked them in the garage and only drive them on nice days for short distances. Now they might be ready to sell.
MINI s moving on and nothing is going to change that. Ford and Chevy have started to go retro in some of their older models, so maybe, in ten or twelve years, MINI will make a limited R53 look alike and all the first gen folks would have something to look forward to.
