Email/messages???

Anyone got the Email and messages to work yet? I've tried with no luck. I must be missing something, I'm using a iPhone.

I don't think that feature works with iPhone :(
There is a compatibility chart on the owners lounge that lists the iPhone as feature not included. Can't find the link at the moment.

Tell me about it. That coupled with the fact that the NFC key cover only works with android as well (because Apple doesn't have NFC) makes me think about switching to android.

I thought owning a MINI was about the drive.

It's about the drive. Until you hit the inevitable traffic or are waiting in the car while your significant other takes 2 hours to get ready.

When I got my last car I went from android to iPhone because it worked better. Might have to do the opposite for my mini :/

The iPhone 6 is most likely going to be announced this week at Apple's WWDC. Perhaps Apple will be adding NFC

iPhone 6 rumors

I don't have the Mini connected package but just the Bluetooth which comes standard. While going thru the check out with my MA he stated that the voice activation button on the steering wheel is a dead button because Mini hadn't worked through making it functional. WTF? This is just stupid and unacceptable! Why is it you can get Bluetooth functionality for the phone and music on the cheapest Japanese and Korean cars, you have to pay extra to get the music to stream on the Mini, and then if you only get phone functionality the voice activation won't work?

E-mail/messages is part of "Bluetooth Office" and doesn't depend on whether the phone is iPhone or Android.

It works poorly on the R56; perhaps it is improved on the F56.

Don't forget that Apple is working with BMW, so maybe a fix is not too far off.

Well messages are working now, had to go into my Bluetooth settings and turn on show notifications. Not sure about emails sent a email and of course as soon as I walked in the house the email came to my phone.

http://www.mini.com/connectivity/compatibility/

That chart states otherwise. Other members have also noted that iPhone 5 does not work. In the above link it says that iPhone is not compatible. That is probably the reason it doesn't work. If somebody wants to PROVE me otherwise, then I will accept it.

The message part DOES work I have it working now on a iPhone. Not sure about email I'll find that out later and let you know. My iPhone was set up to get emails hourly so I didn't get a email when driving. But the message part works fine and it even flashes a white light when a message came thru where the USB port is in the car. I guess that's so you will notice it.

NP you just have to make sure that your phone has "SHOW NOTIFICATIONS" checked under Bluetooth

In the messages, filter it to show emails. Works with Android, but i'm sure that it will work with an iphone. I couldn't sleep, so i spent about an hour in the car just testing things out...

I have an Iphone 5S and selected the "show notifications" under Bluetooth and still I do not get any messages. I believe the Iphone 5S may not work with this feature at all. Really stinks!
