iPhone 5/5s with the new connected system?
has anyone used this? when i was at the dealership i plugged my phone in but no music played.. i dont really want to get a Y cable because i feel like it is just obsolete. i heard you can play through blutooth, but i feel like i would just like to be able to plug my phone in and play my music high quality while my phone charges like my current mini, which i had to install aftermarket. any experience?
my 5s has been perfect through bluetooth and just a standard lightning cable through the usb. It's kind of cool actually, if you unplug it on USB it automatically starts playing music again almost right away on bluetooth.
One thing that is annoying -- really two:
The volume keeps resetting to very low if you change what you're listening to. Haven't figures out the pattern here yet.
There is a delay with Bluetooth and USB. I've had it playing the volume up, everything is OK but no sound until I stop and start playing again. Haven't figured out the pattern there either.
And the third thing -(nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition)- if you were listening to a app previously, left the car, stopped the app (no background updates and app has been stopped for a while -- happens to me with Downcast) when you get back in it'll pick up with whatever it finds. Sometimes that's safari -- so no sound, or it'll start playing music. That's the phone doing that though switching what app has control of audio, not the car.
