The wheel gap is black and tires are black. The only way to get to bigger looking wheels is to fit larger wheels. If you're running black wheels it won't make that much of a difference.

The gap, the tires and often the wheels are black, so I doubt if many people see a problem. With non-black (white, silver) wheels, the differences are much more noticeable to me -- bigger is better, up to a point.

My R56 with 17" rims and 205/45's
New F56 with 17" rims and 205 45's
Problem is clearly visible and I thinking that lowering the car will not change the front and back gap.
Sorry I know the first photo is a bit dark!

GregoryK, I totally see what you mean also. The wheel well opening is a tad larger then the R56. Along with that the nose also over hangs the front wheels a tad more also. With those things it makes the wheel appear smaller. But here is where im sure some wont agree with me. I wouldn't just put taller tires on it to make up the difference. I think that might give you the look of to much tire. I would go with larger wheels. Something like 18" and go from there. You want to try to make it all look proportionate to the car. Im a wheel guy. so I would at least go with 18". Heck I even had them on my R53. Cheers my friend!

The answer is larger rims and lowering.

After you get your larger rims...save some more money for another set of larger rims...

Geographical location dictates what I use for rims and tires.

I tried running 17's in NJ and it doesn't work...because of the geographical location, I also can't put the JCW body kit...however if I lived in SC...I would run the 17's and a body kit.

I went with 16's with bigger offset non-runflat tires and that works well...

Mini #1. Are you saying because of snow? or pot holes. I'm in Toronto and we have both. Ran 17" 215 45's winter and summers and all-seasons. All were fine but you have to watch the unplowed lanes!

Potholes, Bridge Construction, different grades of road surface, gravel, etc.

I would go with bigger non-runflat tires first

So what if you put on 18' rims with 215/45 R18 tires.
Might look good but would give the wheels a bigger diameter. It would likely throw off the speedo and mileage calculations...but there may be a way to adjust those.... They would be quieter and smoother at speed...

Might look mean. Any thoughts??
In my case I simply ordered the optional 18" wheels and tires from Mini.

They look just fine to me on my MCS but as always that is just my opinion.
