I Can't Drive My MINI-S Enough!

Rarely have I owned a car (since my first in 1965) that I yearned to drive as often as I do with my MINI-S. I've only owned mine for two weeks and I use every excuse to take it back out on the road. I live 3 miles from my office and even just driving that short distance is an absolute JOY!

I hope all who buy a '14 MINI Hardtop enjoy theirs as much as I do mine. With that said.....motor on!

You're trapped now, once you've had a taste it's hard to move on to anything else.

I completely agree. I find myself counting down the hours at work till I can drive home. We may have an addiction problem!

Not even a week yet, and I invent excuses, like oh the dog needs a ride in the car. I was hoping this would happen. Glad to see I'm not the only one.

Same here! I'm looking for excuses to drive. My wife is liking that I love doing errands since I got my MCS.

I couldn't agree more CobraBob, I am finding the silliest reasons to simply go back out and drive my F56 more and more every time I return home.

After 2 weeks I already have 3k miles! Admittedly, half of that was due to driving halfway across the country...

Love this caaaaaaarrrrr!

I have a bad habit of buying new and different cars on a (somewhat) regular basis. My 2011 R56 was the first in my memory where I was neither ready to buy a new car after 2-3 years of ownership, nor was I willing to consider buying something other than an F56 when circumstances dictated that I needed to get a different car.

Cobrabob, I have enjoyed watching your posts throughout this entire process and I LOVE that you love the MINI. It is a beautiful car. I think we may have ordered our cars around the same time. I have to wait until June 2nd to get my car though, to coincide with the opening of our new dealer here in town :/ so I read and enjoy all of these posts everyday. And while having a dealer in town and not 2 hours away is way beyond exciting...I really can't wait to get my car. Thanks for your always positive spin on it all. Happy Motoring.

Thanks, Zeke. I have to go to my dealer this afternoon. They're 30 minutes away. Now normally I wouldn't look forward to losing the time to drive to a dealer. But in my case, I'm counting down the hours until I leave. LOL. I'm really looking forward to the drive up and back.

Bob the OP,

In my case the MCS is sitting in the garage as I am retired.

The wife works from home so she is not driving it all that much.

I do get to drive it to meet up with a buddy that drives a Semi for Prime Inc.

I ride with him frequently so I get to drive the MCS an hour to meet him and an hour back home.

Also I am using it for all local errands as the Bullitt Mustang is not back home yet from Brenspeed.

What I will say is the following on driving it.

It is a completely different car than the 2011 MCS we traded in.

Everything on it works as designed.

The H/K system to me personally Kicks-Butt.

Luv the new seats in it.

Plenty of power even in the Default mode have only used the Sport position a few times just to see what difference it made.

Very-Very easy to see out of and that Buddy I do like.

One other thing I will mention that is so very obvious that one will notice on their 1st drive is how, (Quiet) it is inside the passenger cabin.

Another thing that I LUV and so glad I did order were the following items,

LED Headlights with Cornering Lights, LED Fog-Lights and also the rear LED Fog-Lights.

The LED Lights to me just simply turn Night into Daytime on a DARK Hwy or interstate.

They are definitely worth the cost !!!

Another item I'm glad we ordered was that extra rear Storage-Compartment.

It really comes in handy to get personal items out of sight to walker buys.

I know Bob you went for the Manual Tranny where we went with the Auto Tranny with Paddle-Shifters.

The Auto tranny works perfect and in heavy traffic which is where I live it is so nice.

So, as your Original Post said the only downfall I have as well as my wife is getting out and driving it more frequent.

Terry aka "tigerhonaker"

I think I'm going to have to drive to Scottsdale this weekend and order one. The one that Tempe Mini found enroute to California last weekend evidently got sold before Tempe could hijack it for me. I'll hate waiting 2-3 months but hey.

The video on this link is rather interesting. No sure what the creator's intent was, but an interpretation would be satisfying two addictions. Very nice video, the impatient can skip to the three minute mark for the punch line.
