F55/F56 What Is Your Actual Gas Mileage So Far?
Maybe that's why I keep seeing threads about mini's dying at 100k miles. Don't care how well it's built if your always pulling 6000+ rpm at every shift point it won't last long.
There are times to drive "normal" and then there are times to drive it fast. Thus the reason to have different modes.
My first tank on my MCS ended up being 25.9. And I did not baby the car during break-in like some people do. I didn't abuse it, but I've had it over 4500 rpm. That figure include a ton of Los Angeles traffic...basically my commute consists of 17 miles of Rt. 101 traffic every morning and evening. So I feel like the 25.9 is a great number and will be easy to make come up.
Right now after filling up, still with all traffic and city driving, it's at just over 28. That's using some Green mode this time just to see the difference. But it's only about 30 miles so we'll see where it ends up.

To each his own, but your question appears somewhat insulting to at least several of the people who appear to enjoy the great flexibility of our cars.
Sorry, no offense intended, I was maybe a bit incredulous though. Agreed, each to their own.
Many people might try the (Green-Mode) for a variety of reasons.
Just to see how much difference it makes between the three modes.
To see what mileage if any a person picks up from using the (Green-Mode) versus the other two modes.
Am simply a curiosity sort of thing to see what the heck does it do and change.
I don't think everyone buys a MCS just to run the crap out of it all the time.
I bought mine for a multitude of reasons.
Power, Looks and the ability to change from Sport to the other two optional driving modes as I see fit for what I am doing at any specific time on a trip.
I'm posting this just to possibly give you some added insight into why other people buy a MCS.
Terry
I am getting 27mpg in my MCS running mostly in mid mode and city driving. I have not been using the Auto Start/Stop function at all (thinking about using it on my next tank to judge its impact). I have used Sport here are there but not much as I break the engine in.
I agree what the statements above that I think most folks all drive these cars for varied reasons and not all (even MCS) owners are going to be redlining it all the time. Green mode certainly isn't my favorite but on a highway drive where I am just cruising (and already up to speed, hehe) it should handy.
EDIT: forgot to mention earlier that I also will warm up my engine if it has been sitting. I know this accounts for a minimal impact as well bringing my mpg down a bit.

I want you to think about what I am going to share with you. You start dating/marry (depending on your moral perspective) this incredible looking bomb shell of a gal who has all the right everything and you keep it in green mode. Sure maybe there is a moment or two where green mode is appropriate but if your overall experience reveals a relationship in green mode I hope you can understand why I might feel its a wasted endeavor. BUT AGAIN, each to their own...
Also, pretty sure green mode is not an accurate representation of real world MPG for this car, and I think thats ultimately what the question was trying to get at.
Cheers, enjoy Mother's Day, eat, drink, and be merry.

I am wondering why I get such poor fuel consumption. Its at 23mpg on the gauge and that is imperial gallon!
I think that the gauge is not that accurate like on the R56 and can be re-calibrated using certain key strokes in the computer like on the R56.
My first tank is into the reserve and with 23 km to empty I've managed 380km on the tanks (assuming the dealer filled it right to the top. That is 236mile/tank or 20.3 miles /us gallon.
Anyone think that is low. I drive exclusively in big city traffic with not much on the motorways...

Not a revelation as I am completely aware of green mode and what it attempts to do for the vehicle. I am more surprised at the nerve I touched by asking why the hell with a gratuitous use of exclamation points. Again, apologies I had a few beers too many when I posted that, and meant to convey a sense of tongue in cheek shock by the way people would be driving such a rip roaring fun car.

Terry aka "tigerhonaker"
as a comparison, my next tank of gas was done driving as I normally would. Mostly mid mode with some sport in there too, Never trying to save gas, and accelerating fast anytime I felt like it, which was pretty often.
I did keep auto stop start on all the time. Split about 1/4 city and 3/4 highway driving (65mph).
35MPG manual calculation and 37 via the computer...seems like the mini is off by 2mpg all the time.
I'm plenty happy with 35, fun driving and get much better than my truck and as good as my Harley.

Next update on milage:
2nd full tank of gas used and I averaged 33.5. This was almost strictly in Green mode. Again, lots of city driving and high traffic area driving. I live right in Hollywood and commute on the 101 so my traffic situation is never good.
I did a 160 mile road trip yesterday in Mid mode. It was over 100 degrees out the entire time (so the air cond was always blowing hard) and I averaged just over 37. I was rolling about 75 the entire way. Not much traffic this time but I feel like it would not be difficult to achieve 40mpg in this car.

First tank down, 36mpg. About 100 miles of it was highway, the rest was commuting in bumper to bumper traffic in green mode.
We're taking it on a 1,000 mile round trip next week so we'll see how it does then.

Gas-Grade
Curious as to what grade gas you guys are using in your cars, and the ethanol content....
@GregoryK -if you're not doing so already - you should try filling up with Shell V-power 91 - its the only gas in Canada (that I know of) that doesn't contain ethanol. Ethanol is mainly a cheap octane booster- which reduces the energy output of the gas and can clog up fuel lines.

Shell 1st choice and BP 2nd choice.

2014 Justa Manual
304.1 Miles
8.241 Gal
36.9 MPG
3/4 City, 1/4 Highway (@ 70-80 mph)
85% Mid mode, 15% Green
I realize that the 240 lights (150 usually red), 55 stop signs, 30 left turns (that require stopping) and 24 rotaries (where anything can happen) may have some effect, but I thought I could get better.

2014 F56 Cooper S Auto w/ paddles
1404 Miles
4 fill ups with 91 Octane- Shell
Average 33 MPG Sport/Mid/Green mode
My current tank has 200 miles so far on 80% highway and I'm just under 40 MPG-Green Mode I still have half a tank left. I'm surprised as I'm getting great gas mileage for a Cooper S. I'm not sure if this is normal but I'm okay with it!

I also have a MCS 2014 and I have been averaging 33-35 city and 42 MPG on the highway. I use 91 octane on my 3 tanks I have used up so far.

I use green on the highway and mid mode in the city. Around round-a-bouts I always use sport.
