Tried to put in my order on 4/7/14 but was told by my dealership that there is a shortage on HK radio and they will let me know when they can order it. As of this writing, it still hasn't been ordered and I've been reaching out to them on a weekly basis.

Call a different dealer.

I gave the dealer a deposit on Mon 4/21 and was told it would take a week or two to get a production #, and then another 6-8 weeks to see the car. Dealer said it would be in June production. I've got a white roof so that doesn't help. I'm expecting mid July and its going to kill me waiting until then.

Getting a Blazing Red Hardtop S with white roof and Bonnet stripes.
Sport package, 17" Cosmos, spoiler, driving lights, Auto with JCW/paddles, Red Color Line accents, armrest

Dropped by my dealer today to possibly add a couple options and found out that my car was ordered with a white roof, after all. I was assured my order (4/21) made it in before the paint delay was expected to take effect. We'll see...

My MA at Mini of Marin couldn't place my custom order (MCS fully loaded Thunder Grey) due to the H/K shortage. I tried order 2 weeks ago and I'm going to check with him tomorrow.

Actually did that last week and the other dealer said the same thing about the HK radio shortage.

When I ordered on 4/10 my MA had to put the order in without that HK (it was grayed out in their interface) and then have it manually added.

I guess they're not even allowing it at this point?

When I ordered mine on 4/12 I was told "You may not get HK on your car. We won't know until delivery". I told my salesman to do what he could to get it on the car.
He later calls me and tells me that they were able to get the HK on the car and it was being sent to production. Upon looking at my invoice I realized that he had forgot to put both the cornering lights option on as well as comfort access onto my order. Needless to say, I was upset. I called and they have me three options.

A. Keep the order with HK but without comfort access and cornering lights

B. Order a new car that would NOT get HK, but get the options the dealer forgot.

C. Wait till HK was back in and order.

I went with A only because they also offered to throw on
JCW illuminated door sills
JCW shift boot and ****
JCW pedals.
Free of charge.

This was a good option for me because the JCW interior package on the Configurator is not what matches the dealer database and the package only actually includes the headliner and steering wheel.

I think you made out pretty well on that deal. The HK is the most important part (IMHO).

I agree. Though I feel it's dumb to have to get out your key to unlock the car just to put it away to start the car. :P

Wait what?? Again I keep finding this crap out second hand. So even though the configuration of the JCW clearly states the door sills, steering wheel, and interior features (shift ****?) you are telling me that I only get the steering wheel and headliner?

According to the invoice and dealer..precisely.

My invoice states
-JCW interior package. $400
-anthracite headliner
-steering wheel

My dealer was able to get codes to special order the JCW shift kit and pedals but they could not get the door sills that are associated with the package. Instead they decided to put the illuminated ones for me.

I think as long as you have evidence of what the website says, they would be obligated to give you what you ordered...

I think there is some fine print that says otherwise.

Not even fine print. There's a pop up when you start to configure on the website that says details on the website are not final and whatever the dealer says trumps the website.

Interesting... If that's true, the JCW interior package isn't really worth it. The steering wheel, anthracite headliner and sports seats on a Cooper would be $750 versus the package at $600. Cooper S would be $500 versus package at $400. So it could be true...

Yeah. I really wish the dealers were a little more educated in what they were selling.

I also wanted the enhanced lighting package that adds the strip of LEDs under the door trim. They still have no idea how they got it on the cars on their lot.

Light like this. http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews.../photo_16.html
