F55/F56 Pdi
My MA told me it can take up to 48 hours (mine isn't here yet either). I have also spoken with tech's in the shop though who tell me it takes no time at all really. They have to give a window that allows for them to schedule it in to whatever other work is going on at the shop when the truck gets there.

Being in the business, I can assure you the PDI process pays the technician anywhere from .5 to 1.5hrs. It's and under promise over deliver thing. Also if they don't have many technicians or have some on vacation they may have a full schedule and it could take a while just to get the car in the shop to do the PDI. Priority for us is the person with a broken down car rather than the person waiting for a new. Ideally you'd want everyone a priority, but there is only so much time and so many technicians to do it all.
If in fact it does take 4 days then look it over really well. Just make sure its good. A friend of mine had damage to his brand new EVO IX SE when they shipped it. They told him right away. It was a dissapointment, but you really can't tell untill you get close. He had jet black paint though, that shows anything.
I'd just put a little pressure on your salesman and maybe he will want you in your car sooner than later.
