This is from a 2014 MINI Cooper that is being shown at the Denver Auto Show.

Anyone know what the "MINI Excitement Package" is?

How about the "Let's Launch Pack"?

 

Color looks great, just like I ordered.

 

From what I could find with Google.

includes Ambient Lighting (RGB) in the footwells, doors and cockpit, plus a secret compartment hidden behind the decorative surface on the passenger side

I couldn't find out really anything about the Let's Launch Pack.

 

unless the dealer gave it to me w/out telling me, something tells me that's all standard and they're just giving it a name to make you feel like your're getting something.

 

Yeah, the red looks okay. My red MCS w/ white roof/mirrors is on a ship that arrives in Brunswick, Ga. next Sunday. Doubt if they'll be working too hard on Easter.

 

The "Let's Launch" pack includes the checkered side mirrors, checkered emblem pieces (on the front fenders) and the driving lights.

 

I take it that Let's Launch Pack is a dealer package? It's not on the build website.

 

It's on the window sticker with a price of $1,350.

 

It's not on the Cdn MINI website either. My understanding is that it's a special pkg on the first cars shipped to the dealers, with extra options bundled together, and will only be available on the cars built for the new model "launch" time. I know it's not available for a customer to order. Several of the cars my dealer presently has have this pkg.

 

Does anyone know if the interior has standard ambient lighting?

The "Launch Package" is installed at the ports. It includes Black/Grey checkered mirror caps and side scuttles and Accessory Driving Lamps. It is not a customer order option from the Configurator.

 

Installed at the ports? Really? I didn't know they were equipped to install packages like this. Is there a reason why can't the dealer install the same package? Just curious.

 

Thanks. I was pretty sure that was the case. I haven't driven my MINI yet at night, so I didn't notice when I took a short drive a couple of weeks ago. I'm picking my MINI up tomorrow morning at the dealership so I will definitely find out tomorrow night when I get to also check out the LED headlights (with LED cornering lights).

 

Ohhhh I know you're excited, I'm excited for you. The cornering lights are pretty cool. It's amazing how bright the lights are especially with the fogs with the LEDS.

On the MINI.co.uk site it says, of the MINI Excitement Package:

Driving Excitement. The sport instruments make every trip more fun, and are part of the Driving Excitement function, which is available as an app that is compatible with the Radio MINI Visual Boost, MINI Navigation system and MINI Professional navigation system optional equipment. This allows you to view the current engine output and torque on the 6.5 or 8.8-inch multifunction display on the Centre Instrument. The unique Driving Excitement Analyser assesses how sporty your driving style is and awards points for your performance. And on the Force Meter you can see the G-forces at work on both the driver and passengers.

 

Just picked up a 14 with the let's launch pack 5a4 , $1540 on the window sticker. No way is it only checks and driving light, that doesn't add up to $1540, not exactly sure what extra it came with.

I did see a list of the launch packages at one time, there were four or five packages. This VIN was a Cooper S launch package 3 T925539.

5A2 and 5A4 are LED options. Also these come with the 785 white turn signal lights and 5A4 comes with the 521 rain sensor and auto lights.

5A2 - LED headlights, includes LED driving lights and LED fog lights (note 5A1 LED fog lights must be ordered at the same time.)

5A4 - Adaptive LED headlights, includes LED driving lights and LED fog lights (note 5A1 LED fog lights must be ordered at the same time

 

5A4 is LED headlights with Cornering which is a $1250 option by itself.
