Question B46 Motor stutter

Hello mini enthusiasts, i am here to bring you guys an issue i encountered with my 2015 mini cooper s f56. I had finished working out, leaving the field and starting my car, but when i started my car after 2 seconds, the car sounded like it wanted to die and the RPM's were kind of going crazy (staying between 1,000 to 1.5k but going back and forth) but it was stuttering and i gave it some gas, and it went away. Any ideas as to what this could be? This wouldn't be the first time it happens. It happens every couple of months or so. But i've ignored up until now because it is starting to worry me a little bit as this is my daily driver and only car i have. So id like to get to the root of the issue before something major happens and catch it just in time. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

First off, any modifications to the car? Are you up to date on maintenance?

hello, and no. No modifications whatsoever. Bone stock. And yes. Have given its regular oil change when needed. Spark plugs will be changed very soon. Coil packs as well. So yes, everything has been up to date so far.

I would start with plugs and coils, and see if that helps. If no change, my next thought would be MAF sensor.

ok, sounds like a good plan. How could I tell if the MAF is bad or needs to be replaced?
