F56 Power steering... pulsing?
F56 Power steering... pulsing?
Hey guys,
I have a 2014 F56. Since day one there has been an issue when turning to the right it feels like a "pulsing" through the steering wheel as I turn the steering wheel. This only occurs while turning the steering wheel. Once I stop turning the steering the pulsing stops regardless if I keep the wheel steady and the car goes in a circles.
- It's only occasionally (coupe dozen times over 18 months),
- Tech has been unable to repeat,
- Never happens when turning left.

Any small metallic parts in the power steering fluid? This article may help:

Also, there is the possibility of a binding ball joint causing a temporary load on the pump.

I am kind of having a similar issue with my 2010 R56 but it is more of a noise at slow speeds (turning into a parking space for example) Dealership had no clue. (whiny noise like it would be low on fluid on an old school system)
