Wheel Lug Nuts Difficulties

Wheel Lug Nuts Difficulties
So here's the backstory. I recently picked up some new wheels and sticky stuff for the track and made sure that I got ones that would fit standard OEM lug studs (12x1.5 right?). But upon further inspection of my current lugs, they look a little beat up.
So I wanted to buy some new ones to keep everything fresh but Tirerack wants to send me some acorns, local auto parts stores keep showing me acorns, and Mini wants WAY to much for them.
I have seen a few places like M7 and Way that offer conversion kits so that you can use acorn type nuts but how do these kits hold up under track conditions (high speed, cornering, heat, etc.)? Also, does anyone know of a company that offers lug studs in anything other than silver?

Tuner lugs...very common...smaller top....or does the OEM fit those rims? My gut says test-fit them...
some like stud conversions...i did one...and undid it a year later...hated the look. Just bought a second set of correct sized "tuner" lugs....was about $50 from Gorilla.
Good lugs are not crazy $$, but they will cost ya $50 or more of you want fancy ones...
one tip..the ultra cheap "aluminium" acorn ones are junk...they are weak, and they will corrode in a few months...and require you cut them off, even if anodized.

Just talked about hear with the studs , then you will need the correct lug nuts also for the type wheel. this is for R50 r52 r53 MINI up to 7/2006 12x1.5 size. In 7/2006+ they changed the size.
