Mini Takes the States Prep Help!

Good afternoon Miniacs. I have a 2010 Cooper S 6-Speed (here she is https://photos.google.com/share/AF1Q...ptYUtEMXpXNjNR) that is going to need some work in the Spring. I'll be taking part in the Green Bay, WI, to Los Angeles, CA, leg of the Mini Takes the States rally this year and have some things I need to replace like tires and brakes, things like that before July comes around and I drive my pride and joy a solid 3,000 miles. Here is a list of things I will be doing prior to the rally! I want to make sure it's in top shape before hand (obviously I don't want to break down in the middle of Nevada). I bought the car in July from Florida and brought it to Chicago, it had 45K and now is sitting at just under 52K miles. Timing Chain service was done at 48K and Clutch at 49K, so both those repairs are done and dealt with. Air Conditioning system may need replacing as well (Making a lot of noise).

Any suggestions and help is super appreciated. I've provided links to parts I'm looking at as well. If you think there is something I may be missing let me know. Thanks in advance!

Brakes:

Pads- http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...rake-pads.html
Rotors- http://new.minimania.com/part/G2NMB2...56-R57-R58-R59 (Are these ok for an S model?)

Fluid Flush:

Coolant, Oil (Castrol Full Synthetic) 5-30W, Brake fluid, Trans(Manual)

Wheels and Tires:

Wheels- (http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...kageFlow=false)
Tires- Pirelli P Zero Nero GT (I was recommended these)

Services:

Walnut Shell treatment (Never been done)
A/C Recharge

New Parts:

Friction Wheel
Fuel Injectors
Spark Plugs (Any recommendations?)
New High perfromance Front mount intercooler- (Alta, might not happen this year)
M7 Oil Catch Can + M7 AeroGel Turbo Heatshield (http://www.m7tuning.com/m7-mini-coop...4b-engine.html)
K&N Intake- (http://www.outmotoring.com/kn-intake-gen2-07-10.html)

I'm also planning some exterior mods to make it stand out in the crowd of over 3,000 Minis! I can't wait for this trip and I'm so excited to meet some other Mini drivers. Again really do appreciate any suggestions, maybe I'll meet some of you out there on the trip.

In my experiences I have found that Pirelli Tires are no better than 4 sticks of butter. They are super soft and you will be replacing them very quickly. They are great for cornering etc but not for a long useful life. This was just my experience with them, twice.

Hey enoe01 thanks for the heads up! Anything you suggest in particular that still offers a really good response and feel? I certainly don't want to spend that much on something that wont last. The other ones I was considering was Bridgestone's, I believe the Potenza S Pole Positions. I currently have Continentals and they are ok, but they don't feel that sharp or responsive to me, hey are a nice ride, but in terms of overall performance I think there are better options.

Here's a sweet deal. I'm running these now. Not as sticky as my previous AS/3's but nice price for a great tire!

I'd skip the OCC, the Turbo heatshield, the intake (get a panel filter). Why slotted? I got these: https://www.ecstuning.com/Mini-2009-...16A/ES2586594/

If you want put the money towards better wheels or grab an e-bay forgery IC

I am also running Continentals; however,I haven't heard bad things about Nitto. I have a friend who swears by them and I put a set on the wifes Toyo Highlander and love them so far.

I like slotted because they look nice and are more efficient. I plan to get the JCW kit at some point, but will need bigger wheels first. Although that price is really good I'm looking for a summer sticky tire becuase I have winter tires. So for me and the way I drive I'm looking for handling and all-seasons aren't as sharp as Summer.

I run Nitto NT05's. Great tire. Use them for my track tire/wheel set up. I honestly prefer my daily tires over the NT05's though. I am running Dunlop Direzza ZII's on my street wheels. Not saying that the NT05's are not sufficient, but as a track tire I feel the Direzza's have better grip.

Carbon clean up should be done every 50k, so if you haven't done it, it would be a good idea to do so.
