Wow, my '07 MCS is one seriously fun car
I've been driving my Mini non-stop for the last two weeks with the east blizzard and everything. Today with the weather cleared up, I took the VW CC out and then drove my 911 with 2 kids in the passenger seat for 30 miles of back road exercise. The Mini is now, without doubt, the most fun to drive of my 3 cars. Driving the VW CC felt like driving a floaty Cadillac. It's way quieter than the Mini, but boring as hell. VW brakes still suck.
I also noticed the Mini is better than my 911 in 4 areas and I can't explain all of it.
1. The Mini performance wise seems less effected by the weight of my 2 kids on board (age 11 and 13). Can't explain, just less effected or unaffected.
2. I think the Mini steering is better or I'm just more use to it now.
3. My turbo Mini will rev to 6,000 rpm without a second thought even without the sport button depressed, in the Porsche you have to nudge it more.
4. I also like the feel of the brakes in the Mini better now. I'm not talking about fade resistance, just the pure feel of the Mini brakes seem better to me.
Basically, just wanted to say what a really great car even with all the potential problems!!

You're not the first member to say they like their MINI more than their P car. Was chatting with 2 members in another thread the other day that own a P car and MINI and they were saying the same thing.

I have a Stage 2 Audi S4 (Stupid Fast) but my Mini Cooper S with the AEM intake is soo much fun.. Its not a bad car but its not perfect either but a great platform to mod and make it a fun little daily driver go kart
What era 911? It's not even close for me in three of the areas you cited (I do notice weight in the 911 more, but who cares), my 911 is leaps and bounds above the (now-sold) MCS (six speed). The unassisted steering is incredible, the non-ABS brake feel is unparalleled, and the thing revs through 6k in a heartbeat (with a more linear powerband).
It's a bit of an unfair comparison, because I agree for the money an MCS is a ridiculous amount of fun and performance, and it has incredible steering feel for a FWD car.
