When I turn on the car, and the fan/air is on (Ac or no AC doesn't matter) a small of gas comes out of the vents. Notice it more when the car is stopped for shorter periods of time, like 1/2 hour or more. I'm trying to think of how gas could vent into the air ducts and for the life of me, I can't. It goes away while driving and once gone, it doesn't smell again until it's stopped and then started.

 

is climate control set on fresh air or recirculate?

 

the system is typically set to automatic, that's the only light thats lit, not sure what runs when it's lit.

 

Are you under warranty still. I would take it to the dealership, might be a bad leak diagnosis pump. Or you stepped in gas at the gas station and its on the carpet ?
