Revs dropping slow when upshifting

Hi, I've noticed that my mini takes a lot of time (around 2 seconds) to lower revs when upshifting specially from 1st to 2nd gear.
I saw this video in youtube http://youtu.be/S9F17Me80ok Does this guy dump the clutch to match the revs of the next gear or is this the normal behavior of the car?
My car would drop revs a lot slower and I'd much rather not dump the clutch to shift quicker. How much time does it take to perfectly upshift in the mini normally?

I believe it has something to do with the Rev Matching software, it holds the revs higher to make a smoother shift into higher gears and also (obviously) revs the engine when you downshift, so you don't have to blip the throttle, another forum member had explained this to us a while back, that the system not only rev matches downshifts but also upshifts, and the reason the Dutch Cooper wasn't holding the revs was because he had DSC Off which also shuts off the Rev Match.

I'm not sure what you mean by dumping the clutch to shift. I've always heard the phrase "dump the clutch" used when revving the engine and releasing quickly for a drag style launch.

I haven't really paid much attention to how slow the revs drop but it hasn't affected how smoothly I can shift.

By dumping the clutch I mean releasing the clutch before the revs adjust when upshifting. This makes the car jerk. In this thread you can se a video to show how slow the revs drop in my car
