Steering wheel deterioration

I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Am loving my 2017 mini clubman 's except for this issue. After only two months the material covering the steering wheel is bubbling up, breaking, then peeling off. It started in a few places and now I find it in many places on the steering wheel. Black material comes off on my fingers when I drive. Is this in issue anyone else has had with their mini?

No such issues with the steering wheel in our '17 Clubman. Does sound like a warranty item, for sure.

That is kind of weird, no issues with mine, still looks new.

Do you work with any types of chemicals at work/home much and maybe have some residue on you hands? Or even possibly a hand cleaner, soap or moisturizer? If it isn't a material defect, could be a reaction to something on your hands.
